Had a shaky afternoon and evening today....next door neighbour came banging on the door shouting the odds about a blocked drain which must be my fault (according to him).

Well, not sure how lady items in the system can be my fault, haven't used said items for 13 years and I never put them down the loo in the first place..he went a little quiet after that but it has still left me feeling shaken and scared to go out of the door in case he starts again.

Normally I would have been fine but I have been struggling mood wise for the last few months, so I am more susceptible to being unnerved by something trivial or downright scared/stressed about something less trivial!

On youngest and the exam front, we have reached a peak this week for additional miles, I feel like I have spent all of this week in the car going to and from the two sites and home, so thankyou so much for all who have helped, goodness knows what I would have done without it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I do not think my dd is actively looking, and i haveno idea if she has actively given up. What I do know is that there is no pool. Whoever is out there for her will have to come looking for her. At our house .

Rather bizarrely this actually happened last year when an old friend of hers came over to collect an 'antique' mini tractor we had rotting in our field. Then they made plenty of reasons why they needed to keep coming back/popping in. It progressed to them meeting up after work, dinner out...however he was not as free as he needed to be and DD did not want to be more than old friends .

Lightening unlikely to strike twice though..and her present interests are riding, travel plans, her existing friends and she seems content.

She's going travelling soon, no? This broadens pool. She obviously is popular and has no problems attrcating people, you gave a list of exes proving that, :).

Its really tough. I have a couple of female friends I want to shake and kiss at the same time, men seem to talk about it less ( even here in the NP) but I think must be as real...maybe less ticking? Dunno.

I like a really good banana milkshake.

Is this yet more innuendo? Michaels will be along in a second to make the most of it, anyway.

    Here is certainly £25 ph.

    And lanscapers. Ouch, ouch ouch.
We made an enquiry to three landscapers for our small north garden. Ouch.

My brother does the landscaping plans for free and the actual landscaping is included in his hourly rate.

He charges exactly the same whether you want your grass cut and nothing else or the whole garden planned out, planted, features done etc...it is all on the hourly rate.

Probably why he is so poor :rotfl:

He is also professionally qualified in landscaping, horticulture and other gardeny like things and has the annoying habit of being able to make anything grow....I only have to look at a plant and it dies.

This might not be the thing to say to you right now but there is a funny side to that story, Mr Self-Righeous being put firmly in his place via an excruciatingly embarassing (for him) response.....
    I think....

    Really chuffed at work today.

My manager nominated me .....as I said I'm really chuffed. :D

It is so lovely to get recognition...well done to you ...and your manager for appreciating you and letting you know.:T

I am currently involved in a survey of staff ..and have asked "who inspires you at work?"

There were at least dozen people that came straight to my mind..and I have nominated someone...a fabulous senior nurse manager, who is the soul of compassion, a great manager, puts the patients point of view at the heart of everything and over the last two years has her own battle with treatment for a life threatening cancer...

I can absolutely see why it would happen if you don't jump back in the pool. Its like......you are more likely to get a job if you apply for it. Or a house if you make an offer on it.

I always make sure my students attempt to answer every question in their exam papers no matter how unsure they are of the answer, on the grounds that "you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket".

Oh, Michael, I don't know. You need to be certain that every base is covered and that the appeal will succeed. If you fail at appeal, unless you can gather local support, that's the end for the forseeable future. Once the planning officers get their big win, they'll sit back with their feet on the table and watch you.

I still think go small as is possible and get anything if there's a chance. I'd rather appeal with small than big.

Nowadays, if I were looking, I would be happy with a level of intelligence with an understanding of British politics, so I could have a conversation on an evening.

One of our local councillors is living proof that, round here, you can get a dog turd elected if you stick the right colour rosette on it.

I've never even heard of that before.

The educational value of this thread knows no bounds. The size of the universe and banana wine all in a couple of days.

Neither had I. I'm not that keen on bananas (unless green), but I can more than make up for it with my interest in wine.

Goes off to google banana wine...
