I'm definitely not! Dregs or otherwise
Over the past few years there have been the occasional pass by people who should know better (as they are in supposedly serious relationships) and a single incidence of a kiss on a night out with someone whose name I didn't bother remembering.
If I was really serious about meeting someone I'm sure there is a lot more I could be doing to seek them out. But I have a long list of excuses as to why I can't do that at the moment. Whilst some of the things on the list might change over time, the principle doesn't.
Deep down, I think it's safer and a quieter (literally!) life being alone.
Plus at some time, hopefully not in the very near future, I'm expecting at least one RP of my own. They will be welcome to clean the hob any time they like. So long as they finish the job!
P.s. thanks for the very kind words though0 -

I don't think Kelis has ever said what 'milkshake' refers to? Could all be very sweet and innocent? :A
Edit: I'm guessing that is what Tallulah meant!!0 -

It's not until you're over 50 until you finally think "Ah ... oops .... not gonna happen now then ... oh dear, that's not what people said would happen if you weren't looking"
Apart from a couple of months about 13 years ago, I'm nearly up to 25 years of just thinking somebody would come along ... and wasn't "looking" as such. Mind you, I don't even see anything I fancy!0 -
Yes it was, in honour of Michaels shout out for the parrrtttteeeee at LIRs crib.
For the record, I like a really good banana milkshake.
Well, there will be a yard ful, of bananas and you're welcome Afaiac. Not sure they'd agree, they managed to get wives / partners most of them, ( remarkably in at least one case) so any jeopardy of that is probably steel to their moral grit.. I'll be in bed, with my dogs. Wish should sound much better than it does.
As for milkshakes, literal peanut butter and banana milkshake is somehow greater than the sum of its parts..

That's just it though, I don't really think anyone is going to come along. Whether I'm more proactive or not. So it's much easier to 'not'. And just try to get on with life.
Anyhow, I think we've been over this ground before. It's very nice that many of you can't see why I'd end up like this. Sadly I can.

I can absolutely see why it would happen if you don't jump back in the pool. Its like......you are more likely to get a job if you apply for it. Or a house if you make an offer on it.0 -

Definitely. I guess this is the lazy way of indirectly making a choice.
Thing is, I've never really been 'in the pool'. Have just ended up somehow getting my feet wet a few timesI'm as in or out of any pool as I ever have been. This is the only place I know!

3 down 12 to go. It's getting much easier.
V glad to hear that.lostinrates wrote: »Oh, or was doing it ( or the hob) . Just with total ineptitude and telling me it was disugusting I hadn't cleaned it all week.
( I haven't cooked since Sunday, RP is nor cooking for self four days a week when here......or buying in food) . This week RP has had hob food.
Oh, I did put an aubergine in the oven, but that's still fetid.
Rp got bored and has left hob half done, hob cleaner on half of it whinging and gone out.
Shrug, I'm not hungry.
This is a silly game I will lose. RP will buy take away for self tonight, I will snap and need hob for supper tomorrow.
( note , I am meant to be taking it easy , I feel no shame about my cooker, any one of us could clean it.....I do clean the properly...on Fridays usually, before I cook for DH coming home having not bothered much ATM, and spit clean it when needed while cooking more.)
Ovens however are horrid. No denying it.
A while ago I got a voucher for a special deal on an ovem cleaning service, so I thought I'd give it a go. It was amazing. The bloke turned up with special solvents etc and a great big thing that slid out at the back of his van - like a sink but only half the depth and twice as long and wide, so that the shelves would fit in flat. He did his thing, I paid him, and when he had left the oven looked quite literally as though it was new and had never been used.
I know it's very decadent of me, and a posh alert and all that, but my plan now is to wait until it's really bad and then get the same thing done again. The hob gets done weekly by the cleaner, so I rarely have to clean cooking appliances at all.sleeping bags on the floor? You can get blow up matresses from Tesco for about £8.
That sounds like an excellent idea. Because actually, the way you describe it is that you're not really short of actual space, but of things to lie on. A few blow up mattresses should do the trick, without having to worry about the weather, or how they get in and out to use the loo, and nobody will have to drive anywhere while drunk or turn up to their sleeping venue at 3am.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
