I just received a call from a recruiter. I have been waiting to use my username in a real life conversation for a number of years. Today, the day came.
Recruiter: I'm calling about an opportunity at Goldman Sachs, in their compliance department
Me: I would rather chew my arm off than work for Goldman Sachs.
So near but yet so far. It will be another decade before I get another chance I expect...0 -

That's your username elsewhere, isn't it?
Hope you get the chance to use the leg version some time soon.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Trying to address the sparkly pink hell hole that is my daughter's bedroom. I may be some time...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I quite like the thought that hell is pink and sparkly. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

That's the problem. I've done okay in that I realised small incentives seem to work better than larger ones, so she has been given a biscuit or a few maltesers every so often, when she asks, as a reward.
I'm now out of biscuits and maltesers but also in a tailspin personally over it. I have retreated to the bath with wine.
Since four, we have cleared two bin bags of rubbish, a bin bag of teddies for the school fete, a bin bag of design-a-bear for cousin and a large pile of books that she has grown out of. The room looks emptier, but still a mess.
She has an obsession for bags, small boxes and tiny objects. The bags will be addressed tomorrow. DS never cared for tiny things that have no sensible home.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Then it would spread throughout the house sooner. Nothing will stop my little doozer from seeking to dominate the world by means of sequins and tiny, tiny elastic bands.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
