NDR, great name instead of Nudge! ;)

Pastures, you have been waiting ages for stuff on the place you offered on - do they actually want to sell? I agree with others who say go look at other place. We made offer on a house as cash buyers, the woman made difficulties to go back see again after initial visit and then re-visit following day.

In the end we withdrew offer, our sol said she had been the most obstructive vendor she had come across. And about a day after we withdrew our offer we had call from EAs that a house we'd been interested in (but SSTC) had come back on market. Our dream house with big (for suburban Liverpool ;) ) garden. We viewed, we offered, we bought, we renovated (horribly expensive but worth it), we gardened, we then got an allotment too! :rotfl:

Place is a mess as we're both emptying old home, but also having to make room for some stuff from MiL's place before it's sold (she's in Nursing Home). But we're both sure it was the best place for us for at least the next few years. And we put in downstairs shower room/loo so I don't have to climb the stairs to use the facilities - does make a huge difference for me. :)

What I'm trying to say in this muddled post is that I think your vendor is a joke. You are a cash buyer, you should be treated better. Best wishes, and best luck to you from Liverpool! :)

LJ, luck with your move, looking forward to pics of your progress! :)

Spirit I don't blame you for seeing red over somebody who stole your ideas. I can recommend a website for you though, where you can vent your rage privately! ;) I use it every so often for a medical researcher I have a particular dislike for... Though I'd far rather he had to suffer the disease he researches as that might give him some insight! :rotfl:

Off to bed now, we did the slug hunt earlier and OH has gone up to bed so can't get him to do more now, and I can't bear touching the things even with thick gardening gloves on. Millions of snails in front garden in all the damp we've had all day today.

    Night night all, sweet dreams!

I've had to evict 3 slugs from my conservatory/ lean to so far this month. Guess I'm asking for it growing plantlets in there, but still. I've had to woman up seeing as I'm chief spider and slug catcher round this part of town

Well, in half term and school holidays everyone in this house gets an extra half hour on their bedtime, but that means I'm still about 20min over. Although I don't think the dot goes green immediately unless you actually log off, which I don't bother doing.

    Good night all. :hello:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

OH was sympathetic to the pilot and the inevitable overnight stay...less so with BA who then started talking about fitting the passengers on tomorrows flight, and the flights over the following few days:eek:

First and foremost, hope the pilot is ok.

Unfortunately that's how they do it. They also have reciprocal arrangements with other carriers though, so they try to get people home by other means too, or if in Europe or somewhere it is feasible, coach to a different airport.

However if the pilot was taken I'll, they may have a surplus plane on the ground to start with. Not at all straightforward, but they will have a bunch of brilliant minds with great operational experience in such matters trying to get people home. Those with tickets for today's flight take priority, but the flights may not be full. If he's club, and it sounds already like he's a frequent flyer, then he's probably priority anyway. If he is and there are no tickets left in the club cabin, he may be able to downgrade.

Sometimes they send out a bigger plane, but not straightforward if it's intercontinental as they don't have spares sitting around and there will be a flight somewhere that then needs to take a smaller plane and reconfiguration of pax is a pita as they will have booked seats.

They will do everything in their power to get people home asap, not only because it is good customer service, but also because it is better for their bottom line than having people staying in hotels for long periods.

I don't work for an airline and I should say that these are my views, not those of anyone else around me who has already upped and left for work.

I hope your DH gets home today. If he is not satisfied ask him to speak to the station manager. There will be a lot of logistics being organised from uk and they will have best idea of what is happening.
