Good luck tomorrow, LIR. Hope you manage to relax and not be too nervous, and that the travelling to / fro goes well too.

Lir, I think most people find scanners claustrophobic and unpleasant. And I'm not just saying that so you feel better. Sorry -you're special in many ways, but less so in this respect :)
Hope it all goes well tomorrow.

I know people who are prescribed valium before a scan.

I have a large friend who needed a scan, the radiologist tried to delicately say that it may be a tight squeeze whether she fitted into the scanner. Friend was completely relaxed, not worried about being held in a close confined place with not even enough room for the headphone wires to be attached.

    Two ghastly things today.

Big meeting today. Most of the Directors, two of my team, my boss, me. There was an agenda and a full set of papers sent n advance, including a tricky proposal that has been in discussion since last September. Boss simultaneously manages to imply that what I am proposing is old hat and that she has a previously unspoken better strategy. We disagree in the meeting, she damns me with faint praise and I retaliate with a terrible personalised attack.

I should not have done it, I was mortified at my own behaviour, I apologised for doing it. I am not making excuses about how she wound me up etc (someone described looking at me and seeing a red mist descend:eek:) I am entirely responsible for my own actions.

Second ghastly thing. Pilot taken ill on OH's plane home. Pilot taken off plane and OH now in airport hotel with a plane load of others. Hopefully BA will add an unscheduled flight tomorrow so he will make it home tomorrow night.

    Congratulations LJ!

Daniel Mark, cool name one that doesn't seem to age. Didn't we talk about naughty Daniels weeks ago?
Handheld (in a holder on the wall) every time. The ability to direct water close to the head without getting it in your eyes (or to other bits PN described so eloquently in terms of the handstand ) is vital.

I agree, also means you can shower without getting your hair wet.

    Thank you.

Fine and calm now. Incredible the power of reverse psychology, Especially when you know that's what it is. I ' masa hammed but also relieved my nervous will was broken so easily.

I might have a wobble tomorrow, but just being told its ok :o by a representative of the team whose time it would impact on, helps. I am mindful there are other patients.

Last time though my wobble was vociferous:o, it was short. :). I have brevity of drama in my favour.

Is this the same boss who took credit for your idea before?

M'eh. Good for you for apologising. Bet she wouldn't have done if its that one.

Hope pilot is safe. Better DH in hotel than with pilot ill on plane. Poor DH. Poor pilot.

    What lir said.

And good luck to lir for tomorrow.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    Yep.

I am not made of material that lets serial offenders away with stuff. Usually I can do this in a business like way that makes clear my meaning;) I managed this today so it was clear there was disagreement but I was polite. Then I lost it:o

I have an underlying Irish temper, but have self control (most of the time). I don't do passive aggressive, I can do full on cut to the quick, no holds barred, no prisoners taken. I did this today.

OH was sympathetic to the pilot and the inevitable overnight stay...less so with BA who then started talking about fitting the passengers on tomorrows flight, and the flights over the following few days:eek:

Yeah, I get it. :o:D. The temper/ self control issue. Hmm, is my temper from my Irish bit? I thought it was the unexpressed red gene:D ( joke) or another fearsome genetic bit.

On a nother topic, I was sad about maya Angelou.
