On the subject of showers. I like to have a wall mounted power shower that's in one of those little holder thingies. That way it can be:

    * Used to wash my hair over the side of the bath when I'm not well
    * Used to rinse my hair when I'm having a bath
    * Used to rinse my feet if I've got them dirty
    * Means I don't have to do a handstand as I'm a laydee (tmi alert)...

When my bathroom is redone, my plan is to have a monsoon shower with variable settings, with a pull out hand shower for the above and a switch that can alternate between the two.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

We have pretty much what you describe In the bathroom now. The shower hamish called the cheese grater, which is a biggish head rain fall shower, but switches to a blade one, ( great for rinsing hair!) and a hand held one at a lower level for what on described as 'undercarriage rinsing'.

IMO you DO need a hand held one for targeted rinsing if you are a woman at least. Soap running into places not meant to harbour soap and not being rinsed doesn't sound very healthy to Me. Its also useful for sitting on the floor and shaving legs or cleaning feet , both tasks where you want targeted water not deluge. :)

We have a problem with the bath tap and are trying to work up enthusiasm to choose for another one with other stuff going on ( we cannot see one we like as much yet....)

Then we need to start choosing other bathroom stuff, want to do it more slowly this time.

Lir, I think most people find scanners claustrophobic and unpleasant. And I'm not just saying that so you feel better. Sorry -you're special in many ways, but less so in this respect :)
Hope it all goes well tomorrow.

I've never seen a power shower, or similar "posh" ones.... or better. In my world Mira showers are posh ....

When I had a shower room made, I'd heard that Mira were top quality - so I got one from a discount warehouse (Trago) for about £70 and thought that was really pushing the purse boat out!

I DO hate the way some shower pipes go through a fixed piece of plastic on the riser rod..... so you can't have free rein over where they're used/pointed ... and I've always wondered: what is the point/purpose of that plastic bit that constrains them?

    :D

Who couldn't ? Its quite nice and warm once you're in there and that strance rhythmic music . I am looking forward to that bit, because.....well, there's nothing else to look forwards too about it!

Oh, and no cat can jump on my bladder while I am in there. At, the cats are full of beans but hanging around in doors. Like living with a pair of giant furry fleas.

I think it has something to do with making sure that the shower head cannot be submerged in the water, to prevent backflow of dirty water into the clean water main.

I have always found they are quite easy to eliminate - even if they can't be removed, the shower head can be taken off to allow the hose to be taken out of the plastic ring, and then the shower head can be put back on again. :D
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I've only recently seen a shower head/pipe disconnected from the electric box on the wall .... it's not something you'd just have a go at randomly taking apart without having seen it before .... "in case" it all exploded and there was a fountain of water etc....

Also, all showers with the problem were never mine to fiddle with. The one here's not constrained.
