That's the thing, unless you've a clear strategy, budget and drive it's not a money-spinner as the increased cost of the provision is so great compared to the reward. That "free money" isn't free if you've had to spend an extra £50-200k to buy the house to get it.
I see this on the telly a lot... couple with a £600k budget to buy a house who want an income and get excited about the potential for a room making them £X/year..... if they spent £300k on a house they could get a better return shoving it in the bank without the hassle.0 -

Interesting. I definitely like a handheld. Clearly so does PN. I wonder where the rest of the NP stand on the issue?I have scoured the threads for offers or deals such as affordable self-control or half-price willpower, but so far, nothing.
If you find a good offer on those, let me know, please. I could do with some too.vivatifosi wrote: »With regard to fil's offer, if he wasn't involved, would you be saying yes and could it get you further with your prognosis? If so what's the worst that could happen. He may have shared concerns about your health but won't they be bound from reciprocating by Hippocratic oath?
I find it's best in such situations to explain my position on what's confidential and what isn't, and to whom. It's true that they might assume incorrectly that you've discussed your situation with your FIL and are happy for them to talk to him about it, even though technically they shouldn't. However, if, when you meet them, you specifically ask them not to tell him anything beyond a polite "yes, we met her, and it was very interesting, but we can't go into details I'm afraid" then I'm sure they would stick to that. For example, I have told my solicitor that I would like her to pass on to my FIL and MIL anything that she gets that concerns the inquest etc, but that I want her to keep anything to do with my compensation claim confidential, and she's been quite happy to do so.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Over the weekend, I was calling him Aethelbald, my mother called him Osama, and Dad called him Stanley, so I think we wore OH down.
Well done.
Daniel Mark is an excellent name.

Have a wonderful time - put the key in the door, step inside, and realise it's yours. Wander round the empty rooms and enjoy the space and the possibilities for a little while before you move all your possessions in and start sorting everything out.PasturesNew wrote: »... just had a rethink about room layout and now wondering if I could make 15'x7' work.... I was thinking it through wrong.... my epiphany came when I recalled that you can get a loo/sink/shower in a small campervan and realised if I had a wetroom up the other end with a shower curtain round the shower head it's doable and requires a lot less space than an en-suite in one's mind....
But I still think it's a daft idea ...... I'll think it through until I phone up for a viewing to be told it's already sold
I think I've got 3 possible layouts in mind.
PN, by all means investigate the other house if it would be better for YOU - more space, costs less, has a conservatory etc. But don't get it just because of the holiday let possibility. You wouldn't like having holiday let people in it. They would be "there" and you would suddenly feel that you couldn't do some of the things you usually do because they'd be in the way, or they would notice you, or something.

Maybe others shower differently .... I step into the dry enclosure, remove the headset from the wall and point it at a corner.... then I turn the water on and use it to rinse out the shower tray until my toes detect the water's warm; I then replace the headpiece.
I then wash my hair and everything as usual, then I remove the headpiece again to rinse off all the suds. If there's any one part that requires special attention with a good scrub/suds then that's rinsed using the handheld spray - e.g. if I've been on the beach and had to walk through wet mud at any point, then feet will need a good soaping .... and from "all the way up there" it'd be almost impossible to get those suds quickly rinsed off.
When cleaning the shower enclosure I step inside and shut the door and then use the shower head to rinse off the glass walls etc ....after which I stay in there and have a shower.0 -

Re GP, they have asked me NOT to go in because I vomited and they don't like vomity people to go in ( even though we know I 'm not vomiting because I'm infectious) but they promised he will call this afternoon. Its probably just as well.
As it happens I AM feeling less great this afternoon, and will be sure to tell him so clearly, so he can refer me to duty doctor or come and have a feel here if he wants and I have come to bed for a laze.0 -
