    lir, apologies I cross posted.

With regard to fil's offer, if he wasn't involved, would you be saying yes yesand could it get you further with your prognosis? i don't know. Could do, or could muddle the broth further. There are a LOT of cooks in my broth. If so what's the worst that could happen.i don't care to think about it. I could be subject of a nasty article my smil for example...either way, her obituary for a person who was a family friend before she arrived on scene was HEInOUS. He may have shared concerns about your health but won't they be bound from reciprocating by Hippocratic oath?
they should be. Don't we all do things we shouldn't sometimes, often with onlY the very best intentions?

The family issue is multi-pronged..... you started off wrong-footed and if they had any deep-rooted malice then they'd have just washed their hands of you/your branch of their family.... it's easy to do with such distance.

The fact they are interested enough to extend the potential for options means that if you ever wish to have any family bridge-building, then you need to consider going along with it, in the hope it all ends well and all relations are restored to the position they would have been in if they hadn't taken a dislike to you from the start... iyswim.

People don't just offer ... you'll have been well discussed/evaluated and considered for inclusion/exclusion to the clan.... and you've been deemed worthy. The relationship has worked out and is working out and they now know there must be something about you that's worthy of "saving" .... so it's their olive branch.

So, set the family issues aside and do the measuring of worth purely based on your medical progression perspective.

After all this is over, then you can decide/see if you're included/excluded and then it's either their loss or your gain...... it's not as if you'll run into them at Asda :)

Lir if you switch to a private gp does that then prevent you using the NHS for the rest of your care? I completely understand your dilemma re the family connection specialist and am not sure what I would do in the situation.

There are no private GPs close enough for day to day primary care in my situation. Otherwise that's where I'd be. No doubt. Most of the time I am fine, but it can go down quite quickly and then, with risks to driving etc I need someone I can taxi to.

Private and NHs is much more integrated than it used to be. In some cases more integrated than NHs is with itself. I am certain that at one of the private hospitals I use the consultant can access my back file. Unlike the duty doctor on Saturday. Nuts.

Its almost impossible to have total private care in uk. E.g, I was refereed back to NHs for eyeclinic because the private hospitals out here just do not have the facilities to do the tests. Similarly, lumbar puncture in my county/next one up was not available privately through my neurologist. ( might be some other route but was not made available to me, and one of my nerves was the hospital I was offered it in and who would be doing it, and consultant now agrees this was not nuts, as did the other thing, which neurologist agreed later made it risky). I don't really care who does is and if its NHs or if I pay for it if its clean and competent and done honestly and I am not lied to.

I have a medical issue, I am NOT an idiot though I might often appear it. I am capable of digesting information and coming up with answers they come up with months later ( mainly because I am my only 'patient';) apart from critters I guess) Nd I have more experience of my medical condition than pretty much Anyone.

Relying on RP is not a way forward. I need to maintain independence, RP is not going to be around forever for a start.

This is a super post. Pastures, you are on form today ( are you going to see the second house).

I know I am discussed a fair bit. They aren't so clever it doesn't get back to me ;). I also know its a mixture of flattering and not. As I would expect from reasonable people with bias. As I feel about them. Fair, is fair, :D

But, while they couldn't help but find me acceptable eventually :A. I am not sure I find their deeper inclusion in MY life acceptable :rotfl: they are not the sticking point. :o

Here's the thing, I do not do passive aggression. I do not do jibes against people in their social circles and I do not tolerate my beloved being slighted.

Ah .... I guess I'm too used to wandering along sandy beaches in Crocs.... I forget most other people don't get mucky/sandy feet from a day's walking on beaches ..... the ideal, of course, is a well placed tub/bowl outside in the garden of course.... but that wasn't possible at my parents' house, so I'd head straight for the bathroom and perch on the edge of the bath. Here I use the sink.

I do my feet, then rinse out and prop up the Crocs to dry.....

I've been known to stick the plug in on a shower (where one is provided), sit on the floor outside the shower and wash my feet that way...coming from a seaside place/having sweaty feet, being able to wash my feet without the rest of my body is important to me too!

The other way is with a detachable shower head thingy, wash my lower legs and feet without the plug in and hope for the best. My days of sticking my feet in a sink are well and truly gone, I can get my feet into the sink but then my hips lock and I am stuck there until someone can rescue me :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'd have gone completely insane being in any hospital for a fraction of that length of time. Not sure I'd be sick of grapes, though.

I'm only on the nightshift if the Nice Baby is awake. Otherwise I'll be asleep, definitely.

Nice Baby now has a name! He is Daniel Mark <Surname>. I feel as if the effort to get OH to agree to a decision has been far greater than almost anything else I've ever done....

Over the weekend, I was calling him Aethelbald, my mother called him Osama, and Dad called him Stanley, so I think we wore OH down.

We'll have to see. He's got puddle-coloured eyes at the moment, so they could stay blue or turn brown, not clear yet.

They did. It must be deliberate, you are right, because the bank holiday week is so obvious for every other school. It's probably the headmistress, she rather paddles her own canoe. As we only have a child at that school, it doesn't really matter for us, but I can see why others are irritated.

    Lovely name!

We really thought Josh would keep his blue eyes as he had them for so long but his eventually changed, now they are greenish, the more angry he gets, the more green they are (we call him our very own Incredible Hulk)

Good news... broken tooth is fixed. Bad news, need a crown. In the scale of things minor.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
