I've only recently seen a shower head/pipe disconnected from the electric box on the wall .... it's not something you'd just have a go at randomly taking apart without having seen it before .... "in case" it all exploded and there was a fountain of water etc....

Also, all showers with the problem were never mine to fiddle with. The one here's not constrained.

Ooh, no, I wouldn't have wanted to disconnect the pipe from the wall, just the head from the pipe. They unscrew quite simply. I've even done it in other people's houses, and put it back after the end of my shower so nobody would ever know.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I should be tired, but I'm not. Here's the bathroom I was allowed to be creative with. Not quite a new baby, but the best I could do :o

Very stylish. I like the storage (I dream of bathroom storage) If the tiles on the shower walls are textured...they may be the same as the ones we have on the bathroom floor.

I have scoured the threads for offers or deals such as affordable self-control or half-price willpower, but so far, nothing. :(

I think this is a business opportunity, a get rich quick scheme for whoever invents it. Some of us are willing to pay a premium to be "early adopters".

It does sound better than Aethelbald, Stanley or Osama or any combination such as Osama Bald-Stanley. He will thank you when he is older. :j

I have saved a nephew from an unfortunate name that the parents didn't even think was a problem but promptly abandoned.

You can't leave that one hanging - what name was it that you vetoed?

I really did quite like Reuben, but was a bit put off that no-one else really did - my mother said people would never spell it properly, Dad said Reuben <surname> sounded German, rather than Jewish or English, and OH's brother said it sounded far too Islington-trendy.

    So Danny he now is!

Also, if I don't choose to accept medical opinion, like the lumbar puncture incident two years ago :D could it seriously impact on fragile family relationships? I don't know these people but they are close friends of fil and smil, how confidential would they really be, I don't want pity, for example.

Its a lot to think about. And it's beyond first world problem, Its the kind of opportunity I feel in many respects I should be 'killing' for.

I'd have thought if they were any kind of doctor at all, they would keep confidentiality.

I've been told about legal situations by friends etc, and not breathed a word to anyone. Ditto my Dad, and OH, too. Confidentiality is more important in such circumstances, not less important.

For example, I represented someone a few years ago in a criminal matter who turned out, completely by coincidence, to be related to someone I knew rather well. Client was horrified, and said his family didn't know and he didn't want them to know. If they know about it now, some years on, it's not from anything I've said, to anyone.

    Lovely name!

We really thought Josh would keep his blue eyes as he had them for so long but his eventually changed, now they are greenish, the more angry he gets, the more green they are (we call him our very own Incredible Hulk)

How old was he when they changed?
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I like Reuben too, but the only boy I know called Reuben is shortened to Rubes, which I don't like.
    So Danny he now is!

I like Daniel, and Danny (especially when he's little) and Dan (when he's a bit bigger).

I'll also move her new tank this evening, as well as its table.
Clean her & all her stones tonight. Move her in the morning.
Cat will come later. Regarding the fish, hope my mate remembers to bring their old bowl, as my fishtank hangs off the wall, so need to find a home first!

    Congratulations LJ.

Will you sleep over there from tomorrow night?

When we have moved/helped others move there is something very comforting about getting the beds made up.

I've been thinking about the house of course... and want to do 1-2 hours' research on it - which is what I was trying to do when I started at 8am...... it's not the "perfect house" and comes with a different raft of issues.... it had been repossessed in 2011 and sold for £155 (now on at £195k with no changes).

So hard to choose...... at the moment erring on the side of "why swap a house that wasn't The One for another that also isn't The One"

Why not post a picture in the other place so knowledgeable sort here can offer an opinion.

I think it worth a look, you have nothing to lose.Worst case you like it and get it and are happier, best case it makes you feel more satisfied with your current choice and are happier.

Interesting. I definitely like a handheld. Clearly so does PN. I wonder where the rest of the NP stand on the issue?

Handheld (in a holder on the wall) every time. The ability to direct water close to the head without getting it in your eyes (or to other bits PN described so eloquently in terms of the handstand :o ) is vital.
