The house that's new to market is in my previously indicated area of interest .... and would be closer to a better RNLI station, less beaches, better access to courses/workshops etc (and possibly even jobs).
Sounds like a plan, Batman.0 -

OK, now I could just say "that's nice...." but I've questions, so will risk the wrath of looking like a peasant:
Small point ... you forgot to put a bath in it
That sink looks way too high to wash your feet in .... and I'd wash my feet either by sticking them in the sink, or sitting on the edge of the bath with the plug in.
The shower looks high - how do you wash with it? You know, the hard to reach bits....? You can froth up your undercarriage all you like with gel, but there's not the room in there to do a handstand to rinse it off :P
And where is the loo roll?
Where's the hook to hang your towel/bathrobe on so you can reach them while still in the shower?
I bet those lightbulbs are a pain to change....0 -

I was 'suspicious' it wasn't a local solicitor from the start.... I was also slightly unkeen to be buying a house from some abandoned woman with a kid as I know how spiteful and rottweiler-like couples can get when they split up. Presumably abandoned... who knows, she could have been dropping her cacks all over town for all I know
Cacks as in kegs, as in knickers? Or am I missing the point and Cacks is something completely innocent? Is cacks a Inner Herts saying?Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

It's got a garage converted to a dining room, long driveway, conservatory, it's semi, not EoT, lounge is 25% bigger, conservatory is 11x11, bedrooms are a tad smaller, bathroom's got an electric shower .... overall, it's a house much better suited to what I originally wanted.... it's a bit older (say 20 years old), EPC is D (which is fine), CTax is a C (might become D when sold as others there are a D). Overall, it's much more flexible and closer to original wishlist.
Oh balls, just checked the price, it's £15k LESS than the one I am currently 'buying'......
It'd be mad not to look ......Go and look PN. You are not committed until you exchange.
Oh, and remember you'll probably be living there a long time, and that you you put in your offer on this one because you wanted to stop chasing rainbows and buy something, so you just bunged in an offer on the first house you saw after you got to the "forget looking for my dream house and get on with it" frame of mind. So there's nothing particularly special about the one you've got your offer in on ATM.
Everything you've said about it says it is more "you".
It's your money, & it will be your home.
Being a good buyer does not mean doing what the seller/EA etc want. You have a duty to yourself.
Go check out the other one. If you like it more, make an offer.
dare you...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Obviously I can't sleep.
Charged phone, mp3 player, camera. Now charging speakers.
Need to occupy the mind. My current reading material (Arthurian legends) might not quite do it...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Back then, no home phone, after he'd done that he had to go out and phone the midwife from a public phone box.... and it was a midweek night, I bet he was at work at 8.30am the next morning tooGoing the other direction, mum never made it to the labour ward with me as I was 6 weeks early and rather unexpected.
My brother (who, also, didn't make it to the labour ward) kept up the family tradition when my niece was born a year ago. I think his partner started getting pains at about breakfast, she rang him at about 10am, he got home at about 1020, they got to the hospital at about 11am, partner was too far on to sit in the wheelchair, and niece was born at about 1115!
These are women who gave birth faster and a lot more easily that I have, then. Lucky them!
With Isaac, I was in labour for 48 hours before I had a c-section. With Nice Baby, it was 36 hours, then a forceps delivery. And a second surgeon standing by to do another section if the forceps didn't work.
I'm glad they did work - having to heal from both a forceps delivery and a section would feel decidedly Not Fair....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It's an ensuite. The customer didn't want a separate handheld shower bit, but they do have a new boiler that makes the water pressure good enough for that sort of thing. I did ask them what they wanted - a lot of people don't like a handheld.
Toilet roll holder is on its way, the one I chose is out of stock. I've never considered a hook nearby, only at the gym.
As for washing feet in the sink, perhaps this client could use their bath, but that's one to ask the client next time I'm addressing priorities. If my feet need washing, I make the assumption that the rest of me does as well?
The shower base has an edge and also a return in the glass so no water should go near that area anyway.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
