Good luck, whatever you decide.
My self confidence is at an all time low! That's exactly why I think there's no point.
And I am rubbish at talking the talk. The last interview I had we ended up having an interesting discussion about HR (its HR jobs I'm looking at) and different parts of the organisation, different motivations for people, and I was very realistic and honest about things, so I thought it went really well! In the end I got quite an average score, because I just hadn't said the right things to tick the right boxes. It's very frustrating.
I think I will do it though. There are four of those !!!!!!! 'When have you....' questions to do, 250 words each. So it will take time, but if I get the next stage I'll be glad I did it.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Do it Masomnia.
I have confidence on you.
With reference to tv watching conversation, I have lost control of the tv remote. Dog dog saw you've been framed was on and sat up and begged, so that's what is on. She's transfixed. She likes animals and little kids mostly.0 -

Keep going. You will get there if you keep going.
I used to have low self confidence (I still do in some areas) but when I started working again and being around people, I realised that if I was weird, then it was in a good way as most other people were weird in their own ways too.0 -
All the best for the treatment, Gen.
Sorry you're feeling bad, DG.
Give the job application a go, Masomnia, if you do it to the deadline you might surprise yourself. Nothing to lose! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Another vote for going for the application, Masomnia.
I applied for my job on the deadline (it had been moved back once so I thought I'd missed out). They then put the deadline back a couple of times (so I guessed they were looking for more and better applications).
I've been here over 18 months now and though I'm sure there are a couple of people who'd rather I wasn't in my job more have told me not to go so I'm counting that as positive0 -

This made me laugh as well...Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

It was not unusual to hear my parents swear. Not every day but often. Not the f word though.
There was also great use of f e c k/f e c k i n g. Eejit was also pretty common.
There were also some words that translate badly from colloquial Irish English to English. My mum was once asked her opinion of someone and she replied in all seriousness that she thought them a "sh*gging nuisance".
To her it was no worse than "flipping nuisance" and she was amazed at the reaction to her statement.
I swear, my husband does not. Our DD occassionally, usually associated with a stubborn equine "bloody animal".0 -
Thanks guys
I've just done about half of what I need to do tonight.
