That sounds good, Generali. Did you get some MRI / CT / PET scan before the appointment? Are you 'no visible signs'?
I need another PET scan. The last one showed 2 spots: my tonsils and my Parotid gland. That was all. As long as the surgery got all of my Parotid cancer, that should be all.The risk with the radiotherapy is less than the risk without so that is a win.
A male colleague has skin discolouration on his neck from the same. 10 years on it is not noticeable.
Sorry about the hair, you may find that despite all you have been through, this signals to some folk where the penny has not previously dropped, just what a rotten time you have been having.
The extra risk is apparently 0.1% over 20 years apparently. I'd be worse off taking factory work than that IYSWIM.0 -
Congratulations NDG and MrNDG!
And encouraging news Gen xxWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I don't know how you are in yourself, but from my own experience and putting myself in your shoes (though radiotherapy was inappropriate), it sounds as though the answers and movements forward are coming together now and that you can hopefully have a bit of a break from the emotional part of the cancer rollercoaster.
I'm really, genuinely pleased for you and the news about the tonsils must be a huge relief.
Yes, a great relief.
Part of the problem with cancer is that everyone knows a few people that have had it and probably a close relation at that. Thus every idiot is an expert. Someone's Dad had a really good experience with radiotherapy (Although he died a little later) so radiotherapy is clearly a piece of wee and I need to pull myself together. However someone else had a terrible experience and so I should be terrified.
Both people actually know they are right. There's only so many times you can say that the plural of anecdote isn't data to your boss before you sound needlessly aggressive.0 -
Great news about the tonsils, Gen.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I've pulled the muscle in my neck, don't know how I've done it, but that's life.
Into the office, on about 2 hours sleep.......Great!💙💛 💔0 -
I'm out! (Of the hospital, not of the closet).
No cancer in my tonsils, thankfully.
I'll need daily radiotherapy for 15 days. I'll go in next week to get a protective mask made so I only get radiation on the bit of me where I need it. It'll be a low dose which is good: side effects are skin discolouration, hair loss and.................cancer!
Good news about your tonsils!
Hope the radiotherapy goes well.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Been on Facebook this morning, and Bulgarian Girl has uploaded photos of roses and chocolates that had arrived that morning. I had suspected she'd met someone else. It was definitely finished but I still feel like I've been kicked in the stomach again.
Oh and my 'friends' from uni went out again last night for someone's birthday and neglected to invite me. That stings a bit as well.
So it's all a bit !!!! really.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

But limbs felt weak, body felt sore and, I just had no petrol left in me , no fight.
Well I see that you say later on that things will get better, hopefully sooner rather than later. Hope today is better for you.
No cancer in my tonsils, thankfully.
!
yay:T:T:T. I can give you a good and a bad story about radiotherapy, but as they cancel each other out, I'll refrain. And neither of them were for tonsils:p
I'm going to have to pop by a bit more now for further information on the new NP baby. Congratulations to the ND family.
I've had the pulled muscled in the neck thing CK, it's flipping painful!0
