I'm going back to the GP in the morning, as I've done something to my neck (but don't know what, and photos I took aren't showing anything visual)
Will let you know how I get on.💙💛 💔0 -

Indeed, congrats NDG and family.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I'm out! (Of the hospital, not of the closet).
No cancer in my tonsils, thankfully.
I'll need daily radiotherapy for 15 days. I'll go in next week to get a protective mask made so I only get radiation on the bit of me where I need it. It'll be a low dose which is good: side effects are skin discolouration, hair loss and.................cancer!0 -

That sounds good, Generali. Did you get some MRI / CT / PET scan before the appointment? Are you 'no visible signs'?“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

The risk with the radiotherapy is less than the risk without so that is a win.
A male colleague has skin discolouration on his neck from the same. 10 years on it is not noticeable.
Sorry about the hair, you may find that despite all you have been through, this signals to some folk where the penny has not previously dropped, just what a rotten time you have been having.0 -

Hi Gen, that's fantastic news. I don't know how you are in yourself, but from my own experience and putting myself in your shoes (though radiotherapy was inappropriate), it sounds as though the answers and movements forward are coming together now and that you can hopefully have a bit of a break from the emotional part of the cancer rollercoaster.
I'm really, genuinely pleased for you and the news about the tonsils must be a huge relief. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
