She is very like her mother, but with lots more energy! Her brother is a lovely boy and nobodies fool. If only HE felt as half as good about him self as the impression he makes he'd be an extremely big headed young man. As it is, his lack of ego adds to his charm, but not his contentment.
. He's not unlike Lydia, but in a very different way.
As always, you say the nicest things. Thank you.It goes to show that if people bring up their children well, then they can be admired. Too many kids these days swear regularly by the time they are 5 or 6.
Mine don't swear. At least, they certainly don't when I can hear them. DS complains about how much swearing there is at his school, and DD tells me off when I say "bloody" so I rather suspect that they don't swear when I'm not listening either.lostinrates wrote: »I have met other nice people children too. Michael's children are lovely, sweet, confident and beautiful manners. Charming.
Doozergirls daughter astounded me with her bravery and just sweet charm and SO well behaved I was stunned. Her older brother I met later and he worked REALLY hard alongside men.
NDG's son is also a delight. Insightful, charming, and lovely to talk to.
Tbh, I could chat to the nice kids all day, they are interesting people with keen young minds. I enjoy that.
Agree with how you describe michaels's children. Haven't met the others yet, but wish I could.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Added a bit of further detail for you.My DW who is also very nervous initially in social situations is completely unable to visualise spaces. She is doing a math course and is very strong on the mechanical skills but the questions about plotting things to scale completely elude her.
I am not particularly nervous in social situations and also completely unable to visualise spaces. I can do most kinds of maths, including plotting to scale, but I can only do the spacial stuff if I can actually see it rather than being expected to visualise it.lostinrates wrote: »I have everything I need to hand. Amazing! I thought she was quiet, but didn't want to ask in case she was around and I sounded like one of those people that ask if you've given birth yet, when you'd obviously be gagging to tell everyone if you had!
Congratulations to the never despair family!!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Exactly what I was thinking!
I was so excited to see the text. That definitely made finding my phone worthwhile!0 -

LiR,
That whole episode sounds ghastly although it does sound as if your GP is properly thinking of you as an individual.
How is FiR about returning to London whilst you are like this?
This is such a contrast to the weekend when you were shifting top soil.

It's amazing to think that in 100 years' time Aethelbald is most likely to still be plodding about! His birthday card from the King/Queen will be sitting on his sideboard
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs NDG!0 -
Very exciting news about NDG!!
I've done a bit todayGot up and went to the library. Done most of that job application. Found lots of reading I'll need to work with, so I've got some books out. I've also sent a couple of emails out that I've been avoiding, even though they're very basic, adminy, non-complicated things that 'normal people' wouldn't think twice about sending.
I always beat myself up for not doing enough, so today I'm congratulating myself for making good progress. Think I'll do the same tomorrow. Even if I don't get loads done it's better than nothing and I do feel better for it.
Also I think the phone is just about ok. It was doing everything but texting properly earlier this morning... Which was very annoying. But seems to have fixed itself now. I've already bought one of those revive-a-phone kits, that should be here soon, but I might use it anyway even though the phone is better to be on the safe side.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G.
