I actually find it less useful after big gatherings when you produce more than a load or two, and so still have to wash up to clear up in reasonable time. But at least there is normally company, DH and I do it together and chat.
I don't much mind how long it takes to clear up. I like the idea that once the dishwasher is loaded and running, I have an unimpeachable excuse not to do any further work on the clearing up until it has finished.lostinrates wrote: »No Monday morning early start......off to see GP this morning so DH is going late.
Hope appointment goes well.I tend to get nothing done at home study-wise too. That's why I ended up spending the vast majority of my annual leave in the office last year (likely this year too).
How is the thing-that-mustn't-be-mentioned going?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

The problem I have is when I've a dish that's too big for the sink, or awkward in the sink. Or, 2-3 that I want to leave in soak.... new house has one of those 1.5 sinks so I can have stuff in soak and still be able to rinse something off easily, which you can't do if the bowl's full of 2-3 things soaking.
With one sink, if you've stuff in soak, it can prevent you keeping on top of new items ... the .5 sink will make keeping on top of new items easier.
I guess I don't make much that bakes hard. Some things I would rinse first ( I mainly dry fry or poach eggs, so no rinse problem on pans) . I would ask DH to wash a milk after capucini if the dishwasher was going to sit a while, milk dries badly. Stew pans ( which I use more than casseroles) don't do badly at all. Nor roasting or baking tins. Or plates. If anything doesn't wash, which happens occasionally, I wash it up, but I do my biggest pans anyway ( take up lots of room in dishwasher) and I don't get much not cleaning properly.
The only thing I'd say about mine is it uses a lot of salt and rinse aid.0 -

What's the difference between a stew pan and a casserole?
A big thumbs up for dishwahers. I use the all in one tablets with no rinse aid nor salt. We've very, very soft water in Sydney though.
So, radiotherapist tomorrow. It's one of the scary ones. Surgery was ok because you sleep through it and then feel so crap afterwards you can't worry. Radiotherapy is one of the ones where you go places with scary signs.0 -

Stew on top, casserole in oven. Might make a difference to bake on ability. I don't know, I haven't compared, but wanted to reply thoroughly to pn, who dislikes vaguery:D
Good luck with radio Generali. Better going than not I think. Reading scary signs means you are alive to do so.0 -
Hugs Gen. Hoping the radio is fine. I gather the first time is often no big deal.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I have shows that I watch to spend time with DD. Her current fave is Motorway cops.
I probably watch more TV with the Generalissimos than I do for myself.
Dr Who or Soccer with The Girl and Motorsport or science/space with The Boy. Top Gear and Better Homes and Gardens (an Aussie program with cooking, DIY, pets, decorating and gardening all in one big product placement wrapper) with both.
We get Motorway Cops here I think. Is it UK/Northern?Hugs Gen. Hoping the radio is fine. I gather the first time is often no big deal.
I think this is just a meet 'n' greet. The (private) surgeon said there was no rush to get radiotherapy started although I do need to get it done.
Dr Google tells me that radiotherapy is fine for some and horrid for others; it's just luck of the draw. Dr Karl (Australia's most famous science broadcaster - well worth a listen, he does a program on Radio 5 of which there is a podcast) tells me that asking the internet a question is like reading something written on a wall by a drunk who has wet himself...0 -
Trouble is all the things that interest me, will not gain me any money. Explains my lack of career structure - will jsut have to stick with poor and happy!
But that's included in "things you have a use for".
Although learning coding to make money seems like a mistake to me... Lots of easier things you could learn that would make you more money.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

The one we get here is either usually or always about the UK's central motorway group, or something like that - can't be sure I've remembered the name correctly but it's basically a unit of police for dealing with motorways in an area of England that's centred on Birmingham and extends up the M6, down the M5, and both up and down the M1 a bit, but not as far as London.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I'm curious about that. Surely Radiotherapy is offered to kill off any stray cells that weren't cut out. Therefore wouldn't they need zapping asap, just in case they decided to spread? Hopefully it means you get only a mild dose as the number of cells is expected to be few.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
