She is very like her mother, but with lots more energy! Her brother is a lovely boy and nobodies fool. If only HE felt as half as good about him self as the impression he makes he'd be an extremely big headed young man. As it is, his lack of ego adds to his charm, but not his contentment.
. He's not unlike Lydia, but in a very different way.
It goes to show that if people bring up their children well, then they can be admired. Too many kids these days swear regularly by the time they are 5 or 6.
And it's good not to have an ego. Ego's on anyone are unattractive. Confidence is good though - always have to be confident in what you do, but in a good way and by not going over the fine line of confidence and cockiness. I know you say he is content, but hopefully that doesn't mean he lacks confidence.0 -

I have met other nice people children too. Michael's children are lovely, sweet, confident and beautiful manners. Charming.
Doozergirls daughter astounded me with her bravery and just sweet charm and SO well behaved I was stunned. Her older brother I met later and he worked REALLY hard alongside men.
NDG's son is also a delight. Insightful, charming, and lovely to talk to.
Tbh, I could chat to the nice kids all day, they are interesting people with keen young minds. I enjoy that.0 -

You've met quite a few from here?
Their are a lot of good young people around. I used to volunteer with The Princes Trust and a lot do put effort into things. Their are those who don't want it, but then that's their choice.
Unfortunately my town was statistically the worst place for crime for population-crime a couple of years ago. As I mentioned before, I know of some kids that are 5ish who swear like crazy and the parents laugh, but I guess that's the same in all areas - people just notice the bad/naughty ones more as they stick in the memory.0 -

When my health took a down turn two years ago ( I have been unwell for over a decade now, but made a lot of progress in jerky upward trend until a couple of years ago when things started playing up more a bit, though i still have very good days and am lots better over all than ten years ago!) A lot of us were talking about meeting up. Sme of the nice people realised I was less up to things than I probably realised and still came to my house as planned but took control of catering really, and everyone brought something so we had a picnic around my house ( called the wreck, because it really was then, now its a Wreckstoration). So quite a few of them came here, It was a nice day and after a short while felt just like chatting here, cross conversations on disparate topics, and everyone is very like here.
I met NDG in bath when she holidayed there with her son and spirit most recently.
Lydia and I have seen each other a few times, DH and I are exceptionally fond of her children ( we are a childless couple who like children, as opposed to a childless couple who think they are horrid noisey creatures) , and she and I met for lunch with PN. Before Christmas.
The doozers came to offer advice on some building quotes I was having and ended up bidding on the job themselves.
, so I see Doozerboy quite a lot, in moods varying from despair to elation. Poor doozer boy has seen me schlepping about in pjs more than I care to mention.:o. 0 -

Have you identified where you'll put your Christmas tree next year?
And your beautiful lamp?0 -

Not really - I've thought about it and identified a couple of slots ... then I realised I need to live in the space to see what's really best.
I can't visualise - which means I can't even tell how big a sofa is in a space....... so anything I dream up will mentally/visually be turning the 11'x12' room into a 20'x15' room... so if I imagine where things will go, they won't actually fit when I am standing in the much smaller real space
I think the tree will go onto a side table ... just have to wait and see

Glad I am not the only one who can feel tense just from watching TV shows. Have you tried any of the smart phone apps like the SAM one?Phew. Sigh. Breathe. Drop tongue from roof of mouth. I have read the NP posts which I had not seen.
What other instant destressers are there?
Watched the TV programme that I wanted to see. It was an hour long I think I managed about 15 minutes, just kept popping in to keep along with the plot. Emptied washing machine, put tumbling on, put more washing on. Sorted out my laptop and bag for work for tomorrow. Had a bath immediately before prog to stop me worrying about it beforehand.:o
I am now however a wreck. Symptoms of anxiety. It will take ages to settle so all NP help gratefully received to diffuse it.
My DW who is also very nervous initially in social situations is completely unable to visualise spaces. She is doing a math course and is very strong on the mechanical skills but the questions about plotting things to scale completely elude her.PasturesNew wrote: »Not really - I've thought about it and identified a couple of slots ... then I realised I need to live in the space to see what's really best.

I'm usually complimented on how very polite, charming and helpful DS is. On the day he came to you, everyone told me - more than once - that he was a total idiot.
Little darlings.
I hope you are feeling a bit better after your turn. Is fir staying with you or are you organised with things you need to hand?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I didn't see much of him because they were in the yard, but when I did he was just working like a trooper really.
I have everything I need to hand. Sitting in cheese room in a big black arm chair! feet up, giant glass of water, wrapped in a flamingo quilt, and with doors open, heart monitor batteries being worn down
