Just loaded up Google, while being here... 100% CPU .... the system cache takes up a lot of my physical memory. Example of stats right now, now it's settled back down to just 40% of CPU Usage shows:

Physical Memory: 777200
Available: 63388
System Cache: 133564

Why don't you drop the solicitor an email, checking in? They still send searches etc out to you by snail mail. I'm so rusty on the process now but IIRC, if the vendor's solicitor doesn't send out draft contracts etc quickly then there is a bit of a waiting period.

It is all waiting, though. Weeks of doing nothing and waiting. A valuation date from mortgage co would be nice at this point.

Yes. In letter to solicitor with all the essential info/proof of deposit/AIP etc she asked if we had a preferred date to aim for, which I did suggest early May would be ideal with my ISA maturing on the 1st.

To be fair, it is still march. I suppose I am assuming *something* should be happening:o

Snail Mail is fine by me. I have no frame of reference for this situation, so I've no idea what should be happening, or if I should be doing anything? Likely I'm worrying unnecessarily.

I'm reminded of when I bumped into an old friend, who had trained to be a teacher. We went & saw his parents (they didn't remember me at first). When it became clear who I was, we sat chatting, & it got mentioned I worked in a college.

"Oh, are you a teacher too?" they asked.

"No. I've got a proper job" I replied.:D
