Oh Generali, sorry Mrs G is not being as helpful as she might... But I seem to recall she was having some problems with depression or similar a few weeks ago? I imagine that she's probably totally overwhelmed by your latest news, and it may well be making that worse for her. Having said that, I do think that it would be nice if she could overcome her difficulties at least while you go through this very difficult time. She must be horribly scared too, and worried about your Dear Kiddliwinks too. I can't imagine how I would feel in her postition, certainly worried and scared. But even so I think it would be nice if she cut you some slack.

Hope by the time you read this all will be much better in your household, and you will have hugged and made up.

I'll be thinking of you and have set up the proverbial Vibes :o to come over the aether to you overnight or whenever you need them. ;) As not sure what time over here you need them... But Vibes sent with good intent arrive when needed. :)

    Big hugs from Liverpool! :)

Gen, I remember you saying a few weeks ago that one aspect of Mrs Gen's depression at the moment was being very untidy and not cleaning, and that it bothered you?

In the absence of being able to do other things to help, perhaps she's trying to put this right, so it's at least one thing you aren't bothered about?

Just watching the One Show from Aberdeen and they are speaking Doric. I'm starting to think if I ever meet Hamish I'll need a translator...

You might also feel like letting off steam when stuff feels not fair or when those you expect support from are struggling to deliver (because it will be hard for them too, and they do not turn into saints).
    .

    Gen,

I posted the above a few pages back, as I have seen first hand on more than one occasion that nearest and dearest can and do struggle with being on their best behaviour. It would be convenient if Mrs Gens own health got better now, it probably is not going to happen and her 'rock' is a bit less rock like ATM so her support infrastructure is not what it was. You have said her own family can make a drama out of a crisis so I just wonder if your usual steady influence is missed by her already.

You and yours are in my thoughts.

    May I re-phrase the question;
Why don't I get holidays like that?;)

    Because you aren't a school teacher. :D

Sorry! I wish you could have holidays like that.

If you want them badly enough, you could always change jobs to something in a school that gets the holidays.

    That crossed my mind too.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I was once asked out on a date by a guy from Aberdeenshire. It soon became apparent that it wasn't going to go anywhere, as I would have needed an escort to tell me what he was saying:o. He may also have had a problem with estuary, to be fair.

Still, if I ever do meet Hamish, I know who to bring! Hopefully Hamish will also bring Mrs Hamish, so we can all talk about shoes...

Like all builders, I’ve gone slightly over timescales so I’m still putting up this Osborne & Little wallpaper entitled “Swan [STRIKE]Lake[/STRIKE] Cake”. If you look carefully, the swans are, in fact, pedalos.

Quick update: Nothing wrong, just my PC's too sluggish to load up this site etc when I'm already struggling to do what I need to get done to try to get my site/s back on track.

And, yet again, it seems the more/harder I work, the less income it yields.... it really is a peculiar beast!

But, fast becoming a G+ expert .... set up this week three G+ pages, started populating some half-dead websites with content and promoting it, created a G+ community ..... and pecked away at pennies for a few weeks now.

Can't be here long ... got to eke out a scratching some more....

Expensive week: Car tax, service, MoT, insurance..... etc etc
