Well Mrs Generali decided would be a great night to start a fight. I've got cancer surgery tomorrow and she's got a bit of cleaning up to do. Obviously that makes her life terrible and me the ah.
Sorry to hear that Gen. Maybe it is a coping mechanism.
Good luck for tomorrow, I think you said, but can't recall the answer. Will you be kept in for a couple of days or is it expected to be a quick in and out? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Maybe it feels like something she can control, even when everything else feels out of control??
Hope you can persuade her to let you sleep now. I suggest a hug for both of you.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
How easy is it to isolate an outbreak of Ebola? Should we be helping, out of self-interest if for no other reason? There were reports this morning that the outbreak had reached the capital city, but these are now being played down.
Er, Ebola?
No one really knows how to contain a outbreak of Ebola. The other ones died out for no apparent reason. But the politicians are reassuring us so I am sure it will all be okay... ohshitwe'reallgoingtodie... no reason to panic.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

She's probably doing the cleaning for you, in case you need chemo.
My experience of these things is that more than one person can have a bad day at the same time. After all in a lot of ways her life is terrible and the one person who she feels safe with , rely on and can trust might be very ill for the next while.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Because children aren't miniature adults. Their lives aren't supposed to devote the majority of their waking time to work. They have all sorts of things to learn and all sorts of growing up to do during their not-in-school time.
Kids at state schools get to go home at 3:30 or whatever and get 13 weeks of holidays. Kids at private schools go on longer in the afternoon and may have to do Saturdays, but then they get even longer holidays instead. Either way, they don't have to work at being educated (and shouldn't have to) 9:00-5:30 for 46 weeks of the year.
Why don't I get holidays like that?;)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Times have changed...
Used to be able to pop into town, nip into dixons & check out the latest hi-fi system.
It seems such a niche market now, that they don't make stereos anymore!
So, my old stereo died years ago. I never replaced it as was building up to moving out & then getting a kick !!! piece of kit.
I have a fair bit of luvverly vinyl that I'd like to be able to play. I also have a ridiculous amount of cd's.
My new home is set to have a dedicated music room, where I'll store all my music/boxsets/vinyl etc. So at the weekend I was mulling over whether to get a stereo system (I have radios, tape players are now defunct, so is there any real need?) or just get seperates (amp, cd player & record player).
It appears hi-fi systems aren't made (or at least aren't stocked by stores a very casual google will find). Does this relegate me to having to go to a richer sounds type shop?
What to do? & how do you listen to your music at home? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

What's wrong with Richer Sounds jelly? I've always found them really helpful. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
