Glad that's all sorted then.
I didn't know they had a 'nice car', no idea.
Now I want to know why always get the grotty ones:rotfl:
I don't mind, though the one on steroids was ridiculous.0 -

It does suck - and there are odd people and poor people on them too .... but it can be worth giving it a go, under different circumstances of course... not for food shopping, when it's raining and you're pee'd off already.Doozergirl wrote: »I'm too anxious to catch a bus. Because you're a grubby madam who lives on a muddy farm .... and they don't want to be cleaning it/washing it after you return it, having used it to pick up horse feed, drop off manure to a friend's and collect some straw bales.

I always find I'm useless with buses, but that's because we (ie you & I & the likes of) hardly ever use them.:o I never know which stop to get off at, & usually get off way too early or late, then have a bit of a walk.Doozergirl wrote: »I don't really feel like being that organised, but I'll have to do it this morning.
Being unable to leave the house because I live out of town is my main bugbear. I'm too anxious to catch a bus. The worry over having correct money and knowing where the bus stops are or even where the bus goes is too much. Pretty pathetic, but I have a perfectly nice car that normally allows me to avoid dealing with that.
I want to pick up my laptop, go for a pot of tea and write my blog in my favourite coffee shop, collect DD from school and buy new shoes for her. That is impossible on a bus anyway, as both children go to rural schools.
I actually really like walking, get my mp3 player & music on the go & I love it. Trouble is when that isn't practical.
FWIW DB is VERY aware of your love of your car!;) I'm 100% certain he'll be very careful with it.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Excellent stuff.Well I'm out of the doctors.
To keep it fairly brief:
- the chances are that there's no problem with my tonsils
- the doctor is going to check my tonsils by sticking a microscope down it when I see the radiotherapy doc
- I will need radiotherapy but there's no rush
- there may be some numbness in my neck and ear but it'll take about 12-18 months to heal properly
So there we are. Just radiotherapy to go through, almost certainly.
Without wishing to appear to put a downer on it, careful of saying "just radiotherapy". It's quite likely it'll knock you about a bit. It'll have a big impact on your immune system. There's likely to be much lethargy etc. You'll need to use steralised cutlery, plates etc.
However, in the grand scheme, this is good news.
Lets hope after the past week that this is the beginning of a wave of excellent happy news for all NPs!It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

The garage only deals with landrovers......we're all like that. I'm not the bottom of the mucky pile by far.
The garage has its own car wash specifically because most cars arrive filthy. They always seem a bit doubt ful that ours is a working car!0 -

Everytime you miss London and get down. Imagine getting around by bus.
. Should remind you of benefits of living outside a city where the public transport is main form of getting about for most! 0 -
See bin lorries don't arrive till after 07.00 at mine, if I'm running late, at 5.30 bin collection would be ideal!
That's all sounding positive Gen. Do you want to get the radiotherapy done and dusted rather than delay it?
Best wishes Miroslav, good things eventually happen, just difficult to remember at times.
I wouldn't mind a bit of a rest from all the treatment quite honestly. It gets a bit much after a while.
I like the fact that over here you get seen fast and don't just get shoved in a corner like Miroslav. At the same time they could just chill out a bit with things. It sometimes feels like someone is running circles around me shouting CANCER! At the top of their voice.0 -

Do you think you will rest or will you worry and make the episode take up more calendar months of your life?
In you shoes I'd be pushing on, best practise and then......start the process of putting it behind you. But you know you best.0
