See bin lorries don't arrive till after 07.00 at mine, if I'm running late, at 5.30 bin collection would be ideal!
5.30 would be good though .... means you can lug the bin in before work, rather than having it out all day and worrying about it (e.g. in high winds).0 -

Next nearest is a Mr S at just under a mile. For a full 1.5 mile trudge there's also an M/S Food and Mr W.... and buses to/from the end of the road (although the bus fare to go 1.5 miles is about £3.20 return).
There is an "A" coming within a year, that's 2 miles (just looked it up and it's closer than I thought/not where I thought).0 -

There is an "A" coming within a year, but that's 3.5 miles.
I believe that having an M&S Food and a Waitrose within walking distance qualifies for a posh alert.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

There's also an M/S Food forecourt shop 500 yards away .....
All this is because I'll be living in "the cheap seats", while just 1 mile down the road are the millionaire rows, the harbourside £1-2million houses and the bijoux terraced houses costing £400-600k.
One thing I read once is to live in the best area you can .... and here that's 1-3 miles from the posh 'uns.0 -
Doozer, I do recommend a food delivery. You guys work hard, and you'll want some time together when he is at home.0

My car hire ineptitude is yet again resolved. I asked garage if I could take car this afternoon to give me more time in the morning, they said no and I explained and they said....oh, don't hire a car, we'll stick the good 'un on reserve for you tomorrow. So I have car that get me there0

I don't really feel like being that organised, but I'll have to do it this morning.
Being unable to leave the house because I live out of town is my main bugbear. I'm too anxious to catch a bus. The worry over having correct money and knowing where the bus stops are or even where the bus goes is too much. Pretty pathetic, but I have a perfectly nice car that normally allows me to avoid dealing with that.
I want to pick up my laptop, go for a pot of tea and write my blog in my favourite coffee shop, collect DD from school and buy new shoes for her. That is impossible on a bus anyway, as both children go to rural schools.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

HutH flat in London for £95k.... I'll get the details when it comes up.
GFF, modern, clean, DG, CH. 10 mins from West End in Camberwell
117 years lease, £10/year rent.
Could rent for up to £950/month if you bought for £95k and spent £10k tarting it up.
Agent says - amount to spend is how posh you want to go. Renovated to reasonable standard £140-150k. Could rent for £900-950/month
Date: 10 December 2013. Started at £100k and flew up to £116k then slowed and ended up at £125k. Winner's ceiling bid was £125k so he'd have not gone higher.

It's not got details on RM or Zoopla at all.
Will try to keep bathroom/kitchen. Budget under £2k. He's an opera singer, ex squaddie, graduate, late 20s. Already got a friend lined up to rent it and he's got 2 weeks to get it sorted.

REVISIT 2 Weeks Later:
Removed big wooden fire surround. Decorated walls. Cleaned kitchen/bathroom and painted units. Added new shower and tiled round it. Kitchen and bathroom floors tiled. Fixed lounge ceiling plaster (mega bodge, it's still lumpy) area of a couple of feet. Installed a new boiler.
Had help from: family, friends, fiance.
Spent: £1800 inc boiler for all materials. (yes, eighteen-hundred)
Agent valuations: "Finished fantastic" "Standard of finish is bang on for the market it's for..." £150-155k. £180-200k.
Owner said: "I think the midway point is what I was expecting, £170-175k. £150k is a bit low, £200k is excessive"
Rent £850-900/month. £875-925/month.
"I am pleased with the rental valuations and that's what I'll be charging my tenant"
He finished by saying: "I will be putting my faith in bricks and mortar for my pension plans"0
