LJ and I will convene at "Wednesbury", which they have finally renamed Birmingham, as most of us looking for it would call it.

Did you say a while ago that you were intending to teach both baby gens to swim this year?
Good memory for a pregnant Nice Person.
Yup. I want each of them swimming 50m by Xmas Day. That's the plan.
I want to take them swimming on Xmas Eve so that they can show me (even if I've seen before) and get them a little thing for achieving it.0 -
Actually, I might need assistance from the NP designers guild soonish. In order to persuade myself to get around to arranging some of the exterior repairs - which include repairing the rendering to the front of the house (top floor) - and purchasing a new front door, I'm thinking about what colour I'm going to pick for the front of the house (door and rendering). I think I've got an idea, but I'd like some second, third, fourth opinons
If I ask my parents (I'm sure they would like to be involved), I'd probably be told to go for white rendering and a uPVC door. I don't think I want either of those. At some point I might post a photo of the front of the house over at t'other place and ask for your suggestions...
My twitter feed is full of front door !!!!!!!
No idea how much they cost, but they won't be cheap. One company is quite keen to sell me stuff. Think they're both composite, not wood, but I think they're finally on the way to the best of both worlds - looks, not expanding and contracting constantly, security and no draughts.
Our new front door is similar to the first but is wood with proper security innards with the locking rail etc. Total ebay bargain at £250.
Spanking chairs and front doors. That's me!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Doctor thinks I've torn one of my cruciate ligaments probably the ACL. Need an MRI. If it's that then reconstructive surgery and 6 months of really boring physio and strengthening exercises. If it's not that then my cartilage could be shredded instead but he was fairly sure it is a cruciate tear.
Tried to book an appointment with private consultant - longer waiting list than NHS!0 -

I was round her house one night when her husband came in from his 2nd job and she brought his tea out .... she'd made him the hugest meatballs I've ever seen. There were two huge meatballs in gravy on the plate, almost the size of a tennis ball each! Now, he was 6'5" and she was a hefty mare, so I guess to them that was a normal portion, but I've dreamt, ever since, of one day having a huge meatball in gravy, with mash and veggies, just like what I saw that night!
Could they have been faggots?
In the first year juniors, a boy called Christopher called me a faggot. My teacher explained this type of faggot to me. I wasn't entirely convinced that was what he meant when he spoke in rather different tone to comparing me with his dinner.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Doozer, they look nice. I was thinking along the lines of the colour of the first one, though I've just seen some very pretty pictures of teal front doors. I think the green would suit the house better.0

Bruv's just booked a flight (yesterday) to go to South Korea tomorrow (Friday) for £420 one way all in, which sounded a pretty good deal. As he's 6 ft 3, he regards long distance economy flights as something of an endurance exercise, though.
He's starting a master's degree at SOAS at the end of September, and has got a job back in Korea from now and until then <sniff>. So we had a farewell-to-the-Bruv dinner in Kent this evening, with parents, sisters, Bruv, Isaac and me.
Isaac and I are heading back to town tomorrow evening as well, and we've promised to show off Aethelbald via Skype once he puts in an appearance. Which, I'm rather keenly starting to hope, won't be too long, I've had enough of being pregnant. All the vastness of nearly 38 weeks gone, swollen feet and ankles, and still feeling sick sometimes as well, which adds insult to injury, really!Doozergirl wrote: »LJ and I will convene at "Wednesbury", which they have finally renamed Birmingham, as most of us looking for it would call it.

The mention of Wednesbury as a place is really, really weird for me.
It's a crucial component of judicial review - one of the possible grounds for JR is that a decision is "Wednesbury unreasonable", which means a decision that no rational decision-maker, in possession of all the material factors and not taking into account irrelevant ones, could have made.
I must have written "Wednesbury unreasonable" hundreds of times over the past 10 years, without ever connecting it to Birmingham!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
My mind is buzzing, still. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. Up early for presents and three nine year old girls for the entire night!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
