I'd be thinking a door's for security first, looking nice second.
In order to get out of the inertia of not getting these things sorted (e.g. finding builders to quote, getting quotes, choosing one, getting the work actually done) I'm concentrating on the pretty bits. I know that's not the most important bit
Door-wise I want a wooden door. I'll spend time making sure it's as secure as I can. But I'd like to like the look of it too.0 -

When you say "you can", you have to substitute those words for "you can find a relevant, affordable, professional".
I have never heard of the things in your post.0 -

I'd probably prefer to take my chances with a secure uPVC one and leave "wood" to be restricted to the 2x4 or baseball bat just inside0 -

I've added links. Birmingham bars are easy to fit. I could do it. The rest could be done with some basic DIY skills. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

You being able to do it doesn't mean everybody else can
I've no DIY experience whatsoever, no tools - and I am 100% incompetent too. It'd be a complete disaster

No, but I'd like to.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Quite agree you want a nice hard wood door and i would get a glazed one unless there is another window for the hall.our door is hardwood but stained brown, I want it repainted in shiny black....another 'want' for when we win the lottery
3 weeks to SA on BA starting in London £1474 per person in economy. Same flights in business class starting in Amsterdam 1292?!
We were quoted the same price for premium economy as economy on the leg to Dubai.
Premium economy it is then!0 -

Didn't expect them to sprout so quickly. Thought they'd last in the trays til the move, but they're 2+ weeks ahead of where I'd expect.
