You get some stunningly obvious advice on NHS leaflets sometimes.

Like on the pregnancy sickness one, clever ideas such as, "if the smell of something in particular makes you feel nauseous, such as meat cooking, try to avoid the smell."

Really! Never thought of that one.....
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

It seems ridiculous NDG, but trust me, some probably won't think of it by themselves!

    Happy birthday Sue!

    It's finally happened.

    Out of nowhere.

My skin had finally and dramatically succumbed to age spots. :(

Its amazing, how they just,..,,came from nowhere. Its like someone else's skin. Weird.

    Would anyone else notice?

A couple of years ago OHs hands 'aged' rapidly as the backs of his hands developed lots of pale brown age spot freckles. (Ssshhhh I have not mentioned it to him, so no one tell him)

I am trying not to think about the house.... which I've not fallen in love with so that helps. It's just a functional house.

So, what I expect will happen is:
    - I'll eventually get to the "agreeding dates" stage and agree dates.
    - I'll have an overlap of 7-10 days between here and there
    - I'll get some man/van quotes, it'd take a maximum of 2 hours for two people to move me from here to there.
    - On the day the man/van will appear and it'll all go there.
    - I'll then come back here and do a blitz on the house/garden for cleaning as it'll be empty.
    - At the new house I'll potter about moving boxes about, but won't unpack as I won't have furniture. I'll get online and tell you all how I've not unpacked and need furniture .....

I'll then pm Spirit and other NP to suggest a meet up at Ikea. I will already have some idea of what I want and everyone will agree that that looks great when they see what I am choosing. LiR and other NP with style will suggest soft furnishing touches. We will have lunch but I will need to get back to the house. We all agree to a BBQ at my place at thw weekend when NP will assist with putting flat pack furniture together.

    Edited that for you

We would agree to a BBQ at my place at the weekend, except the house is small and I will feel too overwhelmed if I am outnumbered and I've no plans on having a BBQ (never owned one to date) .... NP will not need to assist with putting flat pack furniture together as I'm not really buying much, or much that's big

    :)

Comfort levels are being prodded... :)

PN, Where is your nearest Ikea?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

the doctor might ask if I am male or female. If its that bad I either need to worry less about age spots or more about the quality of medicine in this country. ;)

I dislike it when people try to make assumptions about me or pigeon-hole me. I guess, in light of that, I should be quite happy for someone to check rather than assume!

    I'm the same.

ESC week, I tend to get press requests that assume I know/have heard of every member of the press, which is simply not the case. Looking forward to this again starting next Tuesday.

If anyone wants a Copenhagen meetup, you're more than welcome to PM me, and I'll get back to you when I have my schedule for 2 weeks. I'm with a delegation I don't know (apart from one), and an artist I've only met for half an hour, so things will be tighter than ever this year.
