Birthday greetings Sue, just think it must be marginally better to watch others turn green than turn green yourself.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Forum Ambassadors are not moderators and don't read every post. There are rules about which way the car faces?
If so, why? What is achieved?
In front of historic buildings it's to stop you getting exhaust fumes onto buildings.
Normally you only get reverse in outside shops on busy roads so you don't back out into heavy/fast moving traffic. It's very unusual in a swimming pool car park, this is the only example I can think of in Sydney.101 dollars a time by the sound of things.
I suspect so.Less likely to reverse over a little person if you reverse in and go out forward.
I suspect that's the rationale. In fact I suspect someone was hit by a car there and someone felt compelled to 'do something'.
A small kid got hit by a falling branch and killed recently in a Sydney school. The arborist came afterwards to check the tree and said there was no way that anyone could have known of the weakness in the branch, even if it had been inspected as the fault was internal not external.

Kids come here, they don’t need to worry about things falling from the sky and squashing them. It’s not right, they need to cut them down - trim them down so it doesn’t kill people,”ANNUAL tree inspections should be carried out in all schools to stop children being hurt in preventable tragedies, an expert has warned.
If, conservatively, you could enact those policies for $1,000 a school, that's $10 million not spent on cancer meds or sorting out road crossings.
Anyway, The Girl and I had a lot of fun even if it did cost rather more than first planned. It's a great place. It has a wave pool with two of those circular things with strong currents to carry you round in circles. And a big slide.0 -
It's DDs birthday tomorrow. Shopping this week is a little hard with no car, I have still have bits to pick up. She is going to see Nanny and Grandad later so I can either ask them for a lift, walk the three miles into town or risk catching one of the elusive buses and making an idiot of myself when I don't know how much it is and have the wrong money. I can't decide which is worse.
Walking is winning atm.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

To stop exhaust fumes touching historic buildings?! Is it just me that finds that bonkers?
Can't wait until that one catches on here.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I dunno, look at the filth of things in city centres......London, Bath.....its incredible when a building has been cleaned up.
Think its nuts, mind you, but kind off get the rationale.
I park in the best position for my dogs to have the best view if they are in the car with me.. They like to see stuff going on, but not have people tapping on the windows I think.
This summer, after the maggot saga of last summer I have gone very against my own rules and bought my cats some dried food. I had nightmares about this last night, I fundamentally feel its not a good way to feed cats. Anyway. The cats disagree. I think both have gained fifty percent body weight in the two days:eek: We might have to work something out about meals rather than free feeding..

It's finally happened.
Out of nowhere.
My skin had finally and dramatically succumbed to age spots. This was always my genetic inheritance, but it didn't expect it to be quite so...dramatic in onset. I was really pleased that I had no rosacea after a weekend in the garden with no hat, but suddenly this morning a patchy face looks back at me when I went to put mascara and eyebrows on, thinking I'd go light with the old war paint but make a bit of an effort.
I think these things can me hormone linked, so I suppose I better tell someone! I think you can also get them lazered off. I hope so. Very aging.
Its amazing, how they just,..,,came from nowhere. Its like someone else's skin. Weird.0 -
Oh for a house with more than one toilet.....the queue system doesn't quite work with gastroenteritis! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
