I agree - all 3 of you, Vivia, Gen and LIR are seriously impressive, wonderful NPs.

I'm getting a bit anxious about childbirth, which is feeble in comparison.

I agree. If you are going to have an epidural you may as well have it as early as possible.

Don't read all the horror stories on the net. Follow my lead - have an epidural too early, need to be told when you are having contractions and have a pain free delivery!

    Just catching up.
OH says regularly that "perfect is the enemy of quite good enough". He's right. You can spend ages worrying and agonising about something instead of just doing it.

That's very good, and very true.

Nothing impressive really. I wake between 4 & 5 each morning and I suspect that's because I'm terrified. I will always try to be positive though. If I awake at a different time then it's because of pain. I need to work out how to manage the pain.

Sorry you're going to have to undergo more treatment Gen and that some of the pain looks as though it's permanent.

I think you're right about the sleep cycle - we go through different phases of sleep and I believe that when we come to a particular phase then our subconscious wakes us up.

You might find that something non-medical like acupuncture can help, perhaps. I'm not entirely convinced that an epidural will do the trick though ... :D

Hugs for the next steps in your treatment and life generally.

Sorry to hear your news, Gen. Hope there's better news to come.

As regard childbirth, just be glad we're not this species. Lydiaj (as a mum) and myself (as a firstborn) have already agreed we're glad we're not.

NDG, I'll save you from reading it.
I assume the only relevant phrase is this:
Mothers do not regurgitate food for their young.
so probably not a problem really...

Gen, sounds like you are in good hands medically. How has Mrs Generali taken it?

Hard for you both going through a roller coaster of on/off diagnosis. I prescribe wine.

LiR, I am pretty shocked at your revelation. I had no idea. I do think you have a high threshold for health carp, but dealing with getting your own head around this is not something you have to do on your own . Am available for providing virtual and RL comfort.

    Parking tickets...

I almost own our village square. You can park for free for 30 mins if you get a ticket. I prefer to get fined £25 quite frequently. sometimes forgetfulness, sometimes a sort of parking ticket roulette which is in comprehensible in someone as anti gambling as I am.

Tbh, I won't be getting my own head round it

I am well aware I am a little gung-ho with self treatment but this would be rather out of a home remedies and patchers remit:rotfl::rotfl:;)

Am fine. No waking up nervous. When I do need ears I'll yell, promise.

TBH this is quite good news. It could well have been that my bone marrow was busily pumping out little cancers for the rest of my body to hoover up.

I am in excellent hands, some of the best in the world outside the US.

Mrs Generali had a bit of a cry. She needed to let it out. I think she could well be described as being Mostly Okay.

It's 8am here so a little early for wine. I did have a glass or two last night though I admit.

There are happy people on the bus this morning. Happy, normal people and commuters are a bad combination in general. It is a glorious autumnal morning today so I should let them off I suppose.
