You can buy bicycle trainers for £30 from amazon that basically turn your bike into a stationary bike and let you build up the needed stamina from the comfort of your own tv...

I'm sure spending thirty quid on such a thing would qualify as a posh alert, though. ;)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Sorry lir, I have never contemplated a jar of bees but that's a really good descriptor. Sounds painful and tiring. Hope you manage to get an hour or so in later to replenish your levels and that the pain goes.

I have version ' nervous wired' and a bit tender as a result.

Poor wonderful doozer arrived shattered this morning and took a kip on the drive and I felt shabby for complaining so have pulled my self together and am doing laundry and have mixed dogs supper for tonight Just In Case.

I need to sort something clean to wear tomorrow too.

I said BTL LLs are buying everything; house I viewed/dismissed a few months back's been bought by a LL and already rented out at £850/month!
It was tiny and hideously dark.

They made it look lighter in the photos I see...

I do actually have one - somebody gave it to me a few years back. The issue I had at the time with using it was .... it "whines" as you're cycling. The resistance strip makes it sound like you're winding up a dynamo.
