Be careful what you wish for ... I bought a bike... and nearly every time I took it out the chain fell off (except once, when I got a puncture). Shop said I was "riding it too slowly" - and I pointed out I have to ride it slowly to get the stamina built up to ride it faster!

So now I only take it as far as I am prepared to push it home :)

Gotta be honest PN, the chain excuse is what us cyclists call BS.

The chain will be falling off for one of 2 reasons. Either it's too long (possible but not very likely) or the bike needs adjusting (highly likely and almost certain if the bike has a derailleur or two).

Chains don't come off because you're going too slowly. Fact.

    And we missed you.

Btw, I know my opinion isn't wanted house object choosing, So won't be offended when you don't choose my suggestions, but I did put actual white in my bathroom, And am even contemplating white in dh's and my bathroom ( but also pink, green, blue, purple and variants there of). :D

LOL/white. The good thing about white is it's easy to redo and/or change your mind and paint over. It's easy to "try it out" by seeing it as a base coat at worst..... but I love the fact you don't waste a minute or a £ choosing/trying colours.... one tin, one brush, job done.

I think it has those.... clunky gear things where it switches cogs. Yes. 21 gears or something. All I wanted was a "sit up style ladies bike for roads"

Raleigh P3000 is the model. Shimano gears.

Trouble was, I couldn't easily get it dealt with at the time as the bike shop was a 40 mile round trip.

Looked it up: "Shimano 21 speed C030 revoshift gears with CI-Deck on board controls"
    http://www.malleys.co.uk/bike/thebikes/bikes2003/p3000ladies.htm

I spent £200 buying that .... moment of madness back in about 2004/2005 when I thought getting a bike was a good idea... then I realised it's a 1-in-4 steep/narrow/winding hill in every direction to get out of town ...

I'm Easy Lover. I hate that song, it's dreadful. Didn't like it than, like it less now. If I was born a bit earlier it would have been Dead or Alive, You Spin me Round (Like a Record). A bit more like it if a little gay. I don't mind a little gay, actually I had a lot of gay friends in London.

The day of my birth was Lilly the Pink or My Dingaling depending on who you ask.

Bearing in mind I have absolutely nothing .... to buy a house I think I'll need:

    £2k stamp duty
    £1k solicitor
    under 3 years old I won't bother with a survey ..... I know it's risky, but it's a good small builder....
£3k for all household items including fridge/freezer, beds, sofas, TV, TV table, new PC, PC table, office chair, filing cabinet, vacuum cleaner, ironing board/iron, swing top bin for kitchen, hanging rail for clothes, saucepans ....... and outside/garden stuff including washing line, lawnmower, garden furniture ... and lots of luxuries obviously with that budget!

An NP Ikea trip would be required, of course.

I remember all those. It sucks when an online fun tool gives you a result that sucks.

Yup, clunky things aren't lined up. It's pretty easy to fix with a screwdriver. The Sheldon Brown website will tell you how, or You Tube.

If you PM me the name of the bike shop I'll make their name dirt on every bike forum I know.

Halfools, Truro. Obviously real name is the national car/bike accessory retailer there...

I told the man "don't be ridiculous" at the time.... but what can you do!

You need a recce of IKEA to get your eye in.

Can do Thursdays and Fridays if you want a NP outing. I have no sense of style, so you may want other NP with such talents.
