Effing hell. Just as I buy (nearly) a house outside London on the grounds that I am just about happy with a 1 hour commute, they have decided to move the office further away on the other side of London.

Vacuum I've not got would go under the stairs, but the stairs turn, so there's no ironing board space there....
My stairs turn too, but there's still room for an ironing board, iron, Hoover, airers and portable air conditioning unit, plus other stuff that doesn't go anywhere else such as rolls of wrapping paper. You don't need a lot of height for an ironing board, it's worth measuring. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Nothing to be sorry for, not at all. Barristers are just very restricted in what they can say about anything they know anything about, really. Odd Code of Conduct rules. If you know nothing about a case, you can bang on all you like (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

That's the trouble with life... you make decisions based on today ... then tomorrow comes.0 -

The under cupboard is a max of about 3' high. I'll look tomorrow, but I think, after that, the rest of the slope's in the living room. It's one of those blank areas in my mind where I can't remember what happens, but I can remember what I remember looking at/in .... and the photos in the brochure don't show that bit0 -

Maybe I imagine boards are larger than they are! Mind you, £25??? That won't happen
Anyway .... I've not even seen the house again yet ... nor offered, nor had it accepted ..... I could be back to square one by the weekend.
Maybe I imagined the cupboard size ... funny how your mind plays tricks. There's a whole "blank space" in the kitchen that I can't for the life of me remember what's there. I know something's there, it's not an empty slot... but can't remember what ....

Lots of dogs like being warm. Avatar Dog loved basking in the sun whenever there was any, and the dog we had when I was little liked to lie on the floor in front of the gas fire until she was practically singed, leaving briefly to cool down a little before returning as soon as she could bear it.lemonjelly wrote: »I hope to get a bike at some point when I move & start cycling. I don't care if people laugh, as a) I'll have my mp3 player on, so won't hear them & b) I know that I'll be able to go on some AWESOME cycle routes when the weather is nice.:)
Um, jelly, it would be dangerous not to be able to hear the people laughing at you, because it would mean you also couldn't hear traffic etc that you need to be able to hear. If you really must wear your mp3 while cycling, you would be a lot safer only having it in one ear - although you'll get no stereophonic effect, of course.lemonjelly wrote: »I really really hope that I'll be happy. You'll almost certainly be fine.
The house I hated was a rented house that LNE and I picked in a hurry when we had to move because our previous LLs had given us notice. The house that Doozergirl hates was one that she had misgivings about right from the beginning, IIRC. Most people don't end up hating houses that they have put thought and care into choosing and felt sure about buying, unless they develop huge problems like the ones on Sarah Beeny's Help my house is falling down show - but even so, she always finds a way for them to fix whatever it is and get back to loving their houses again.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Anyway .... re a house - I decided to just "buy a house .... almost any house" - so looked today and found one, viewed it - and am thinking of buying it so I have a house ... and ignoring the fact it's not really got much on my tick list
By this time tomorrow I might have made an offer on it.
Welcome back PN. We've missed you. :hello:
Exciting news about the house. :TI'd have loved you to find 'The House' right now, PN. But I'm really pleased to think that you might have a house of your own. Good luck.

Sounds as though you're ready for this now, and this house is good enough. Go for it (subject to survey etc etc)!Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
