No, not the kicking. I already have someone kicking me and they told me what I can kick them back about
Then and again, probably not the nice boys either. Too nice for me! The only bit of the hen do the other weekend that makes me cringe was possibly putting someone off ever paying anyone a compliment ever again. Oops.
I'm either a) not cut out for someone being nice to me, b) haven't completed my rehabilitation yet or c) both of the above
I'm hoping for b. Work for it to be B please nikk. You deserve for a not to be true.0 -
Nik, I like people being nice to me, especially people I love and live with. Makes life much more pleasant....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Pn told me to get lots of back writing in place before worrying about it, so started that but then the worry of the technical side got bigger and bigger and squashed me like a fly. Well. Not quote squashed. More electrocuted, like a tennis racket fly swot. Attached to the requisite.....
I could mosey on up your way in a few weeks to go over it all face to face if you want. See what you've got, write you a clear strategy that works etc.0 -

I dunno. I can cope with people being nice in day-to-day life (friends, work etc), but I guess the best way to put it was I was very skeptical about it in the other context. And I had had enough to drink to be open and honest about it (but not so much that I couldn't string a sentence together, which with hindsight might have been better). I now can't remember whether I've always been like that (just managed to keep a lid on it) or whether this is a new behaviour I can unlearn.
Anyhow, I've had my random kiss for this year so I've probably got another year to try to sort myself out before it's an issue again! :rotfl:0 -
Yesterday I heard neighborhood children laughing at my progress so at least someone is enjoying it.:D
Heh heh .... I learnt to ride a bike when I was about 8-9 .... I've never forgotten. The issue I have is (lack of) fitness and desire. I'm a fairweather/flatland cyclist... with panniers full of sandwiches and pop.0 -
Good luck on the house front Pastures. I wonder if any of our resident landlords are around. They could perhaps suggest wording to carry on where you are but a month at a time, if that's feasible. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Fairweather cyclist sounds good to me, PN, that's my idea of fun, too. OH and I cycled along the Camel trail to Padstow and back with Isaac in a bike seat, and that was great fun.
OH is an all-weather, all-terrain cyclist, including in London, wearing nasty coloured clothes so that he stands out a mile in bad weather.
Best of luck with the new place!
Nik - I suppose it depends on what you mean by "nice". I don't mean "wet and boring and colourless", I mean "compassionate and interested and kind"....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I know it's not an area I know anything about (in keeping with many others), but I can't get my head round why we are so hard line we deport a young woman without allowing her to sit her A levels then asking her to go, yet allow a m a f I a member to stay because the prisons in Italy (which are presumably subject to the same EU rules as ours) aren't good enough.
Sorry to stray into NDG territory but there's something wrong with that picture. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
