    Well to once again contradict you it is written in this thread and you haven't read it. You know the law better than the judge who sentenced me. If someone is found with a significant amount of drugs, a judge would only see it as a minimal role and sentence on that basis. Of course that makes sense... I mean wow you are really this stupid? Significant amount = minimal role = minimum sentence. That defies logic. If being this dumb was a criminal offense, you my love would be going down for life. Unfortunately on this occasion you are wrong, very wrong and so proved.

    Read the link scuffer as if your lawyer didn't explain to you how it works, the link will.

    Two independent factors are taken into account. The first thing is to decide the harm, based on the quantity of drugs and their nature. That puts you into a category, in your case category 4. Within each category, there are 3 levels of offence based on whether the role was leading, significant or lesser. Each level of offence in each category carries its own range. The level is decided on what you did (ie where in the supply chain you were) and has nothing at all to do with the amount of drugs.

    Given that all this would have been gone into in court and you would have been present, and given that you claim to be university educated, I am now wondering whether this is an entertaining hypothetical scenario for someone?

    No offence love but you know nothing you haven't even read the threads properly and posting on an assumption. It was 4 counts of possession with intent to supply class A & B 2 A class 2 B class. If you would of read the thread you would know it wasn't only class A. I honestly believe you are some form of highly strung troll who can only be right all the time, even when the facts are already written you still go with your own opinion on version of events which happened in my life. You know my life? Ern no! You know what happened? Erm no because you haven't even read the thread properly. I can acknowledge my mistakes, i think you should do the same because what you have posted against written fact makes you look like an a*r*s*e.

    No one is trying to bring you down.

    From my perspective I have said that you need to appreciate the angst, disappointment, embarrassment etc that you've caused your family.

    Once you understand and appreciate that then you can try to demonstrate your understanding and remorse to them.

    I have given an honest observation that you do make 'excuses' for the offence - your parents don't need excuses, they need apologies - ask them what you can do to make it better.

    Even your last response here is full of 'I've had it hard and it's made me stronger' etc etc... rather than, 'gosh I now see how difficult this must have been for my parents... I am so sorry for them, how can I make it better for them'.

    I hope you can see the difference - you are currently focussing on how your estrangement is hurting you NOT how what has happened is hurting your family.

    That is my interpretation.
    You seem to miss the point that how can i understand when i do not know how they feel? If i made assumptions i would make mistakes. I have to work on the facts and establish these facts, but without them talking to me i cant. Its kind of ironic that you suggest i assume their point of view, because the last couple of pages in this thread are purely based on assumption from certain posters. Assumption is the mother of all... I'll let you fill the blanks :)

    Ask your aunt for a description of how they've been, what the impact is etc.

    Also, you've known them all your life, you should be able to imagine their pain.

    Again, you're deflecting this back on them... you need to stop doing that. They didn't ask for any of this.

    I will just leave this thread to die out now. Thank you to all the people who posted supporting comments, i really appreciated it :) to the few people who decided to turn this in to a slanging match, well what does that say about you? This was a thread in the families category regarding help with a family, not a trying to kick a dog whilst its down thread. You should really take a long look at your life and see what you have become. You tried to degrade someone seeking genuine support based on your own bias assumptions. I may have committed a criminal offense and served time in prison, but never would i try degrade someone who needs help and because of this alone it makes me a better person in society than you. So what you tried to make me look bad, has actually backfired and made you look bad in the process.

    Once again thanks to all the decent people who posted :)

    No: he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs because that was what he did. The drugs found on his possession were Class A.

    The info has dripped out over the course of the thread. If you read the first post, you would think that all he did was naively take some pot into a festival for a friend, and consequently had the book thrown at him. Its only when pushed that it came out what exactly the drugs were, and then accidentally that his role must have been more than he alleges.

    This is not true at all - you seem to have it in your head that this has been a big cover up. Can I just point out the original post;

    2 years ago i was sent to prison for 43 months and served 22 months. I was in my final year at university and on course for a 2.1 in electrical engineering. My crime was 4 counts of possession with intent to supply. My girlfriends brother asked and paid me to carry his bag of weed into a music festival and i agreed thinking it was only a small amount. When i was going in i spotted a sniffer dog and tried to do a runner but the security guards at the gate caught me. The amount of drugs on me was significant and more than the bag of weed i thought it was.

    Scuffer never said 'They were class A drugs' but what is thier that is untrue? He hasn't drip feeded this at all he just wouldn't of felt the need to give you every little detail - but when asked he did tell you. He DID naively take a rucksack full of drugs into a festival THINKING it was weed- he has never admitted or given reason to believe he is lying. (even if you believe otherwise that is your opinion not what he has 'drip feed' or admitted afterwards he has not said anything to counter this )

    "Perhaps" you could read that as it being only weed - but reading that I see no cover up just simply his story - now can I take you to his first thread? Which tells exactly the same story that when someone asked him 'why 23 months' his reply was honest - and true to his story;

    Any prison sentence will appear. I may as well just say what it was so people know. It was for 4 counts of possession with intent to supply. My girlfriend at the times brother asked me to carry a "bag of green" into a musical festival for him and paid me to do so upon going in there was a sniffer dog, i tried to run and was caught by security. The bag of green turned out to be over £2000 worth of A and B class drugs. As for Asia, its a nice thought escaping where nobody will judge me but i'm on license so it isn't possible.

    I think you have mis judged him on your assumption that he is 'covering' something....but back to the orignal post I suppose the only thing he did wrong was use the word 'amount' - but given this was not an original debate about 'what' was in the bag but a mention that it wasn't what he thought it was he wouldn't of felt the need to break down exactly what he meant by 'amount'.

    I don't get the impression that Scuffer is male.
    OP's writing seems feminine in style to me.

    With the details he has provided, you can find the story from several news websites providing his name and address. I didn't get the impression his style seemed feminine but he does come across as well educated. I'm not going to post any links to it, if anyone really wants to find it then they can search for themselves as numerous articles provide his name, location and photo and I don't feel it is appropriate to post these on a forum where he has not provided these details himself.

    I would say though that I agree with Nicki in that if I was able to find all these stories without knowing Scruffer's real name and a very quick search on goggle, then family/friends/locals who do know these would all be able to find them ever quicker than me. If his family are very community/church involved then they will no doubt have felt a lot of shame and embarrassment.

    So to Scuffer, I'd think about sending them a letter every now and then to try and build bridges. They don't seem like they will speak to you face to face or by phone, so perhaps a letter may let them see your feelings and your side of things but don't push it too much. Try and extend the hand but if they don't return the gesture then you can't make them.
