Dear Tesco,
I don’t want to sound mean but I have to tell you how irritating it is to be constantly accosted by sales people/charity collectors every time I go into one of your stores (at least 3 times a week). I understand the important work these charities do (the sales people are another matter) but it would be better if you could manage the situation to avoid making your customers feel harassed ie introduce a rule that they are not allowed to approach/solicit customers. They are clearly visible at the entrance/exit, If customers want to get involved they can approach them.
I will post this letter on-line to gauge the experiences of others.
Thank you
Mr M Collins

What have the various managers of the Tesco stores you use said when you have raised the issue with them?0

......the letter at the beginning of this page was sent today. It was posted here to gauge response. Clearly I'm wasting my time - people must enjoy being constantly solicited by strangers0

I give my hat off to them - volunteers helping for charity? Kudos
Salesmen standing at a booth all day trying to make a sale? Kudos
I wouldn't want that job, and I don't get harassed if I'm not interested I walk past them...harassment would be standing in front of me blocking my path & trying to force me to listen - that would be a forceful complaint.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

My local Tesco does not have charity collectors who constantly solicit anything.
Perhaps you have a kindly giving visage?0 -

I too share your gripe.
However - the fact remains that you are posting in a section of this forum that doesn't relate to your issue - you need to post in the relevant section and this will solicit replies that will be more appropriate.0 -

Happened to me at my local Tesco recently. I had my 2 year old son with me and ended up feeling pretty intimidated
It was unpleasant.0 -

Certainly that would not be nice.
I did once have a "chugger" who put their hand on my shoulder to get my attention. I informed him that if he touched me again I would report him for assault. Seemed to do the trick.0 -

I would of turned back around and got a member of staff to ask him to move out the way - unf their is always a few bad ones in the bunch.
Our salesmen are lovely - we tend to ignore them but often give us a laugh.
One said to me last week can I ask you a question?
& second guy said can I ask you the same question but in a different way?
Edit: Maybe you had to be their..:rotfl:People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
