    I'd say the most common places I end up using it is coffee shops, plus the occasional visit to M&S and Macca's.
    I must say, it is very convenient for the small quick purchases it is intended for.
    If you see the ))) symbol, go for it!

    Do you have to tell the cashier you want to use a contactless card or do you just put it to the machine after being asked for payment?

    I finally got accepted for one of these accounts on my second attempt, oddly asking for an overdraft seemed to sway it.

    I can login and see the account etc.

    When I try and apply for a second account via online banking I get the following error;

    Ineligible for a second current account page;

    "Sorry, we can't offer you a secondary current account."

    I thought you could have two of these accounts?

    Any ideas?

    You can. Try the link that specifically says open an additional account at the bottom of the apply tab here:

    On my second on line attempt I asked for the overdraft(for £150). The application was turned down. When I applied (successfully) in my local branch yesterday I was offerred an overdraft of £1000!

    There doesn't seem to be any consistancy as to why on line applications fail.

    Two is the maximum, but it's not guaranteed. Even one account isn't guaranteed, -they are subject to status and credit check.

    My payments taken out yesterday via their card don't seem to be showing up today. This bank account is stuck in a time warp. Then again you can't complain too much at 5%

    If they're paying 5% why are you taking money out at all?! Unless you've only got this account, of course.

    It's better to pay for things using money that is earning the least interest, or a credit card that gives an extra 30+ days of interest for your money while it sits in the bank account and waits to be collected.

    Yeah I realize that, I use a 0% CC card most of my outgoings, and thought of using this for small stuff with the contactless card for convenience (two bananas). I can top up easily anyway. Suppose it's just a new toy.
