    Hmm, £6.44 to £6.86 a month isn't much of a return for the £2K... :o

Can anyone plaese recommend a better investment for £4,000? Thank you very much! :)
Sarcasm's a difficult play for only a third post. People'll get confused.

I'm quite happy with that return. :)

6% Regular Saver with First Direct or HSBC are other options.

Can you recommend any better investments within the Financial Services Compensation Scheme? :)

5% gross with no risk is an excellent rate of return.

If you want to put your money at risk for a possibly high rate of return, then consider the stock market.

I was in the branch on Sunday to sort out joint Classic Plus accounts, and the branch manager I was speaking to said that he thought the rules would change this week or next week so customers would only be allowed to open one account (this may mean one + one joint as the existing rules say you can only have two Classic Plus accounts, but in reality you can have two joint as well.) No idea if this is true but I thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone wants to set up their allocation of accounts before a surprise change to the rules!

I was just using the online chat feature with a tsb consultant so I asked about this. His first response was that he hadn't heard about this, then a couple of minutes later he confirmed that it will be the case from 31st Dec. so I asked what about people who'd already got 2 sole and 2 jnt accounts. He said "They won't be affected, if you already have 2 sole and 2 joint you will be able to keep them and keep earning interest on them all."

So if you've not opened two of each yet it might be a good idea to do so sooner rather than later

    Hope this helps someone

    Hi all,

Is it possible to open a joint account online? I filled in the online form, and I've got to the step just before it does the credit check and I still haven't had a chance anywhere to enter a secondary account holder.

    Is it branch only?

    Thanks

How do I use the online chat? Is it accessible only once logged in because I couldn't find it? I wondering what effect this change will have on me as I have two sole and no joint accounts, after 31st will I be able to have two sole and one joint or will I be limited to the two I already have?

Has anyone upgraded their existing TSB Enhance current accounts to TSB Plus?

I have three TSB Enhance accounts, but as the rate will fall from 3.00% next month I had planned to upgrade two of them to TSB Plus. I didn't want to do that yet because I wondered whether I would still receive the (already accrued) Enhance interest for this month, if I did that.

Depending how much money you have, you might think twice before you hastily give up your Enhance accounts. If you have maxed all the interest-paying accounts, the Enhances at 1.5% are actually way better than the nearest instant access rate. It's easy enough to open a couple of TSB Plus accounts from scratch.
