Pink...
You need a good night out with the girls!
Have you thought about booking a girly holiday with your friends? Nothing beats a holiday, especially somewhere nice and lively.
Sounds like you just need a break from reality and I have made some of my best decisions after a good week or so in the sun! I always come back a new person. Some may say that all you're doing is escaping for a while and then coming back to reality - I call that a wee bit pessimistic. I always come home and see things in a different light, a clearer light. Have a look and see how everyone else is living, how much fun life can be.

Hi Pink Lipstick Babe
Glad to know that you are feeling better today (both physically and emotionally).
It's good that you've got through the last four weeks. It's still going to be a series of bad days and good days. At least you now know that you can have some good days (or even part of a day). If we never had any bad times we would not be able to appreciate the good times.
For myself, I am not really a believer in 'going back' - and I have done it in the past (not very good at practicing what I preach!!!!). You are already rembering the negative things about him and how he made you feel - so maybe it wasn't all as wonderful as it should have been. It is soooo easy to latch on to the best bits - the grass is always greener syndrome I think. That's something else I'm good at as well. I think a lot of the time it's the change in routine that makes us fall apart - especially when we are so used to doing things with another person.
Thank goodness for all the wonderful people on herer who have / are helping you. I know that this site has saved my sanity more than once!!!!
Take care.0 -
You go Girl!!! :j :j :j
You are doing so well. While you are feeling strong and thinking of all the reasons why you DON'T need him, write them down. Then if you are feeling low againyou will be able to read it over and over again and see that its his loss and not yours!
Enjoy your day!0 -
Most of us have been through break ups - and we all get through them. Imagine if your friend was in the same situation as you are now...what would you tell him/her?
Sometimes we are harder on ourselves than on others - but be kind to yourself.
I was with someone for 7 years, he broke it off. Within 2 years, I'd bought a house and met the man who is now my husband - and am happier than I'd ever could be with my ex.
This is a stage in your life - not your whole life - honest!

Hi PLB
Hope you are feeling ok today and you are having a nice Sunday!
I have just read the whole of this thread and am touched by your story and by all the lovely messages you have had - they must have helped tremendously. There really are some lovely people in the world..and especially in MSE world!
I went through a very traumatic time in my life several years ago and although I wouldn/t class myself as "happy" now I have learned to be more positive. I got myself the greatest little cat..and like others have said - they don/t judge you and love you unconditionally. I am also moving house in a couple of weeks too - that will keep me busy!
I really hope you get your move back to Scotland and you continue on your positive path - you deserve it.
Best Wishes

Hello PinkLipstickBabe
I've just been reading through the posts on here. It's great that you're feeling brighter and you've had so much help and support from your MSE and Messenger friends.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your house in Scotland happens soon for you. I live in East Yorkshire but must have an annual Scotland holiday fix........and hope to move there permanently when I retire.
I hope you continue to feel positive and each day brings more smiles than tears.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
