i'm still quaking about it though lol0 -
HI all, back from the book group which I'm pleased I went to. I hadnt rea this book so it was interesting to observe people & I wasnt the only new person which was good. I suspect I was the oldest one there though!! Anyway, will be good to finish the next one (Northern Lights) which I'm really enjoying - to the point I want to read all of them!
Re the CJ I now have all email addies ta so will sort out a list over the weekend. Are people happy with 3 weeks to do each entry or would you all prefer a month? Spreads the postage cost a bit then as the more entries there are the heavier it gets! They normally go recorded which is more expensive but CJ's are precious so are people happy with 2nd class rec? Does anyone know 2 more people who may be interested in joining us? Ok off to bed I go! Hugs all! Taxi just noticed your totals - really coming down well!! How do you do it!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Ooh, is that the Philip Pullman one? Great stuff. My partner read that out to his son, who was then 12... I wouldn't have fancied reading some of it out - won't tell you and spoil the surprise, but... oo-er.....
Seriously, its a wonderful, wonderful series of books - I bet you have a great time getting to know that universe.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
oh i've finally thought of a topic - view from my window, guess we've all got windows and it will be good to see the different views. hope that's ok with everyone0

Hi FF! Hope you are having a good weekend.
Just wanted to say thank you for your help the other night - gave me plenty of stuff to think about and take with me yesterday, and it certainly paid off!
Thank you xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
You must do whatever you want Lemon but I have to tell you my view isnt that interesting!!
Hypno its my pleasure..I just hope you dont overdo it!
Just back from shopping! Went to the car boot this am and got a gorgeous jam pan. The one i have I will convery into the chutney one & the new one will be for jam (you cant use the same one for both!). Its nicer than the last one as the handle drops down and it was £10; solid brass & fab! Am dead chuffed! Then went to the libabry to get the other two Phillips Pullman books. Sad trip then to the vets with a card & chocolates for "the team" so say thank you for all they did. Slightly upsetting that the cemetary spelt her name wrong so she has now had a sex & name change & is called Mackey! Whats done is done but it was upsetting...She is in the boot of the car while I decide on what plant to get. Then popped to ikea for lunch (meatballs...YUMM!!) and got a new duvet (13) some drying up cloths and jars but have come home as have a migraine so am off to my pit for a bit with the end of book 1! Definately my hormones & more than a bit annoying on both counts!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
wel another dfw day begins! Lots to do as promised to make 2 cakes - 1 celebrating a girl in works news that she is pregnant (I'm VERY exited!!) and another to say ta t some people who give me lush stationary in work!! Plus I have plum jam to make & realised that I have no sugar! Off to tescos in a bit. Then to allotment where much needed digging and the home to cook! Washing about to go in & new duvet to go on! Very inconvenient all this housework. Realised that old ways have slipped in & MUST get back on track tomorrow with diet & not drinking. For tonight I plan to sip the remains of my red wine & enjoy but tomorrow its boot camp for slippers!! Hypno have also been BAD with fire & am seriously thinking of just locking them away so I CANT use them!! Finished my book but not yet managed to do the CJ organisation. I do wonder whether we should send the first round in Jan & get Christmas over with - it will take people a while to prepare the CJ (cover, instructions, sign in page & their entry) but will go with the flow. My cover is almost done but others may not have started? Anyway let me know what you think & I'll sort a schedule. People also need to say if they are happy with a month to send on?
Ok off to do...problemw ith here is you can spend all day chatting & very little doing! Have been trying to catch up with threads but its beed a bit overwhelming - so many new people plus I do feel (ducks head in readyness of attack!) that some are possibly just having a laugh at our expense. I was chatting to someone in work who said openly & unashamedly that he had two personas on a site he went on and would just wind people up for a laugh! Fun eh! I try to be sympathetic to all but it can be hard when you feel people are fake!! Guess I'll just have to go with the what goes around theory!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Oh ff- I do hope not - but !!!!!!, if they are, how sad are they?!!! I mean, it's one thing to get help and support from the site but to actually take the time to sit here and make stuff up! Words fail!lol!!
Could you email me with the instructions for the CJ? I PMed my email to you but I'm a little lost as to what I should be doing to start it all off. Are we all picking a different theme? Never done one before!

quite sea but some peole are like that!
Re the CJ did you have a look at the links I put up a while ago? I'll do a detailed list of what to do asap & email people. The first thing you need to do is;
(a) decide on your topic
(2) make/decorate the cover (or decorate a book if you want to!). To do mine I just cut two lots of 6x6 card (thick card) and then decorated away...
(3) Pages to sign in & a return address page in case it gets lost in transit at the start of the CJ
(4) Instructions (ie acid free only paper, any do & dont for your CJ)
(5) Do your double layout and sign in card & its then ready to post on!
(6) At the allotted time you pack it well (in plastic bag and then in a sturdy padded envelope & send it in to "your person" you will then get a cj to decorate & on they go until they get back to their owners. Does that help people?...
My theme is things I wish I knew then...tree is doing views from your window & I'm not sure about pap or you. Ideally we'd have 2 more so does anyone know a scrapper DFW who would like to join us? It will just be a bit thin with only 4 entries!!
Ok off to list on green metropolis. My lovely cousin ave me loads of books in an attempt to pay for the meal last week. What a sweetie eh!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

I think I'm doing things that make you smile
