Stars when seller pays too much for postage

What!? That can be the onky respsonse to this dumb question. You knew the postage when you bought it, the seller didn't make a profit on it and you want to give them low stars.0

:rotfl: You should become a consultant to other sellers!
Not every seller on ebay is a pro who knows the exact millimeter that means the difference between small parcel & medium.
I can see your point as a musing, but to consider marking someone down, just because they do things differently seems pretty harsh.
Yes, they could have got it cheaper, and passed on the saving to their buyers. But they haven't cheated you.
So either send them a friendly message to offer advice, or just leave them be.0 -

Yes I was happy to pay the postage quoted because I was under the mistaken impression that it was justified by the size and weight of the articles I was bidding on.
Let's say you phone up a taxi firm and ask for a price to go to an address you don't know and they say £20 which you agree to.
The taxi driver has provided the service at the price agreed and everyone's happy...
Now, what if you get a different taxi home and they take a much quicker route and only charge you £10.
Are you still as happy with the first taxi firm?0 -

Yes that's exactly what I do... I usually direct them to Seejays excellent site...

Haha, amazing!
But still, I think you need to bear in mind that not every seller is the same, and some private sellers might not be meticulous with their measurements.
At least it sounded like this one was trying to be careful in terms of protecting the item at least!0 -

Better would be you phone up a taxi firm and ask for a quote and they say £20, you say ok and as they only use top of the line limousines they send you one.
On the way home you call a different taxi firm. They send a guy on a Vespa with a spare helmet and charge a tenner. Do you think the first taxi firm was conning you, or so you think that in both cases you got the service you paid for even though the end result was the same?
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -

Where did limos come into it... No just two normal taxis.
Let's give the first driver the benefit of the doubt and say he didn't know there was a quicker route...
Still happy?0 -
You started this thread to attempt to justify your desire to mark a seller down for postage. Either have the courage of your convictions and do it, or don't, and spare the analogies.0

Why not answer the question rather than dishing out insults?
Lots of people in this thread need to look at the top of their computer screen and look at what site they are on....
On mine it says Moneysavingexpert.com
Think some people ought to be on Money Wasting.Com :rotfl:0 -
A message to the seller would let them know for the next time they sell an item.
Low stars doesn't help anyone in this situation, and just shows you up to be spiteful - in my opinion.
Leave whatever stars you like. Why not answer the question rather than dishing out insults?

Interested to know which of my two posts on this thread contained an insult?0
