Banana flapjacks baked and sat cooling, I could eat the lot they smell so delish!
Will resist until I get back from school with DS.

Just need to hoover furniture in lounge and wash over the cat feeding area of the kitchen floor and then I'm going out to P.O and do a couple of things in town before collecting DS from school.

Not quite all jobs done but it's a good start and I can carry on later, maybe. ;)

Hope everyone is having a good day.

So far I have not got much done, but DS is clean, fed and dozing off on the play gym.

    Still no diet coke.

I have decided to use incentives to get me moving. If I can really get flying, for every week I consistently hit Level Three I get a reward.

Day One isn't going well :o

I need to make covers for our new sofa (it took me over 10 years to convince DH to get a new sofa, it didn't cost a lot but I want it to look reasonable for as long as possible. I need to get covers and it is soooooo much cheaper to make.

However, I'm not brilliant at sewing. I can manage buttons. I bought a pattern (ebay is my friend) and DH and I (mainly DH) spent a large chunk of afternoon trying to measure it yesterday.

I think I am going to have a few little moments trying to get it put together.

First thing I need to do is draw out grid, put on measurements, work out how much material I need.... It requires piping and I haven't got a working sewing machine. I did curtains for most of the house hand sewing.

Then I have to draw out the shapes and cut out  I've never done piping in my life  But I haven't seen a simpler pattern that would work.

I think I will wait til Thursday & Friday to draw up the pattern, then get enough material off the £1 per metre stall on the market to do a dry run. Sigh. The sofa is covered in throws at the moment, but in a few months DS will be grabbing at everything and I need something that will stay put.

The pattern has instructions for continuous bias strip that has my brain leaking out of my ears

I am determined, however, that this will dent my resolve to fly!

Fortunately for the new sofa our elderly cats can't be bothered (usually) to cause much problem, but our thirteen year old tabby took one look at the new throw, got out her claws and had a 10 minute mad fit all over it! It didn't look so new after that!

I think the weather is getting everyone down. Has anyone seen a forecast that promises sun?

Anyway, haven't so much as flapped today so I had better get moving :)

    Love to all

    Hev

Dusty.. this is so unlike us being motivated.. I think we have split Nicki's motivation between us seeing as she is usually flying like mad and she is doing what we normally do!! lol

Hev.. make a pretend cover first so you can make sure it fits properly.. just some super cheap 99p a metre fabric will do.. you will be practising your sewing skils and it will ensure it fits properly first time and not waste your best fabric!

Pigpen I am actually looking forward to the sofa cover, and I will definitely be practising on cheap stuff (though I won't be buying very dear stuff for the real thing :) ) I always try and bite off more than I can chew - but at least I have fun doing it!

    Back to flying!

  • Sounds like a big job Hev! You're braver than me; I'll have a go with buttons, but covering sofas is beyond me, even with a sewing machine.

I'm having quite a good day so far:
    [STRIKE]
    Make beds
    Wash up
    Kitchen S+S
    Bathroom S+S
    [/STRIKE]

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room

    Clean floors
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances[/STRIKE]

Nothing to sort - the fridge is bare until I get to Tescos this evening.

    Extras
    [STRIKE] Cancel Experian membership [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Hang all Craig's laundry up[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Take bins and flings out [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]1 load of Laundry[/STRIKE]

Don't think I'll be doing any flying this evening - off for a second viewing of a house we saw on Sat, so if we like it as much as then and FiL thinks it looks good too, we'll be putting in an offer tomorrow!

Haven't had time to read all the posts yet but will catch up later. I have done the floors and the counters, plus baking a Victoria Sandwich at this second which will come out of oven just before I pick son up from school.
Daughter texted to say she didn't get the expected grade in her Maths SATs and is disappointed :( I told her she'll have to study harder as she can do it really.

Watched the end of Hannibal which we videoed last night, had lunch, and not done much else.
Hope all is well with everyone, will catch up later x

Children banished upstairs to fill bags with rubbish and I'm off to sort 2 bags for charity shop.. shouldn't be too hard considering how much growing this brood seem to have done recently!! I must stop feeding them!!

Ebay posting can wait until tomorrow when I have got some mroe money in bank.

I also transferred another £50 from paypal.. that's £200 in the last 3 weeks!!!! All helps!!

My shoes have arrived.. one pair I need to exchange for the bigger size as they are really tiny but other than that they are all fantastic.. :D:D:D:D

DD4 wore her wellies on teh way home so had great fun puddle jumping.. the welies are now drying on the radiator lol. It is really warm here in spite of the wetness.
