I just have to tell you my "OOPS" of the day...

I had a severe case of automatic pilot this morning.
Have you ever moved house and found yourself coming home from work 'automatically' driving towards your old house? I sure have!
This morning it happened to me again. I was supposed to take little squirt to the babysitter as our work schedules are a bit different now due to the summer holliday's. I only drive little one to the babysitter when I have afternoon shift, so this morning I was on automatic pilot. Even though my little girl was chatting with me happily, I drove down the road, and turned right towards the freeway.

Lucky for me I have a very smart and talkative 3 yrs old because as I turned at the traffic lights she said: "HEY!! This is not the road to Margret!! This is road to grandma!!"
And she was right and all!! LOL!!
I could just about see myself driving 20 minutes to work singing and chatting to my baby girl (like we always do in the car) before realizing I was supposed to take her to the babysitter!

Right time for explain what I've been up to, phew what a day

Spent a while with my friend's Mam this morning looking around rescues. She was looking for a dog after loosing hers then loosing her husband 2 weeks later. After seeing none she liked or thought she would be able to cope with I thought of Holly, my youngest dog because she is everything she described she wanted.

Her concerns were if she took ill/died there wouldn't be someone for the dog - Holly could come back as she's fine with my 2 others. If a dog wasn't good with kids - Holly has been with my 2 since being a puppy and has never been nasty. If a dog would settle - I could offer her on a trial.

We took her over this afternoon to her house and Holly loved it and she loves her. She is everything she wants - Holly barks at passers by etc but she wanted the reassurance of a dog, which Holly proved she is good at that. To be honest it's the only part of Holly we don't like as she's so noisy and acts agressive when she isn't. She behaved well and was being good with sitting etc. Holly is only 9 months so also young enough to expand on her training but not at tiny puppy stage. Also reassuring for me is I know she is good with kids and the lady has grandchildren who visit and her daughters are both expecting. She's perfect for her.

I have to look at it as she's going to have the life of riley there she won't have here, attention wise as here it's split between 2 kids and 3 dogs, Holly is growing more jealous of the dogs as time goes on. Her dogs she's had in the past have always been spoilt rotten and lived to 14+ years, still upsetting in a way as we rescued her, but I know she will love it there and be loved lots in return.

Thursday will be hard when she goes, the boys have took it very well and I have explained at first it's just a trial to see how she gets on and she might come back. No doubt I will cry :( but it seems the right thing to do.

Then I went to my appointment, sorted teas and felt so tired after lack of sleep last night then dashing about today I fell asleep for 2 hours :o while DP watched the boys, up now and must crack on with my assignment.

Becca I haven't driven to my old house but have driven to my parents old house, where the boys go swimming instead of the shops etc. I also when first moved away from home would get on the bus, pay fair into town to get my next bus then get off at my Dad's and think oh darn it, thankfully he would usually take me home after laughing at me :rotfl: But yes now the boys are older they usually correct me :o

Maralum hope the littlies settle soon, sounds like they are pushing you a little at the mo. Ants - may be non OS but I used ant powder when I moved in here as they lived in the fire place. Worked great.

So tomorrows plan looks like this:-

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe -:j not for me!
    Clean window
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
Wipe light switches and banister - dont have one!
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
Tidy shoes, coats and bags - All kept in bedrooms
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • Clear one hotspot
    • Gather any borrowed items or library books and return/rebook/check dates
    • Wipe the leaves of your plants
    • Sort through any magazines or paperwork lying around
Also want to clean leather sofa. Did it a couple of weeks ago but want to get into the habit for first week every month. Used saddle soap and it came up like new and felt so soft - very impressed and huge tub for £3:T

    Still need to:-

    Do meter readings
Fill in direct debit for water (will do that now)
Disks to PO for proof of posting
Change of address to bank - wrote in but not good enough:mad:

Lots of tooing and frowing tomorrow as DD1 at preschool in the morning, then she goes for a storytime in the afternoon at the big school she will start at in Sept. So 6 trips for me! She calmed down and stayed that way after the cuddle. Really dont know what got into her, so not like her. She amazed us at tea time spelling both hers and her sisters names backwards - too blooming clever for her own good!

Made a batch of chicken nuggets for the freezer this evening too so stocking it up nicely again.

Hope you little one is feeling better Lil-me.

Off to bag up my bolognaise and pop in freezer:D

LO isn't much better but thanks for asking. Throats hurting him a lot but he was better in himself today. Did manage to get his medicines free without seeing a GP as the pharmacy have started a new pharmacy first thing where they can issue pain relief for certian issues and just ring through to the GP who will ok a prescription. I wasn't aware of this and nearly paid £8 for the meds. Think this will be very handy as when I asked for a GP appointment today they said Friday 13th is earliest.

Lil_m : aw, what a lovely thing to do both for your friend and for Holly. It's really selfless and though i'm sure it'll be hard on Thursday you seem to have already decided it;s the right thing to do. Hope it all goes well xx

Becca, I wonder how far you would've got had she not spotted it? My friend tried to let her self into her old house when she was drunk, the new people were very kind to her though!

Well, vacc'd the livingroom and hall before I washed Mr Dyson, the fluffy filter takes ages to dry. Gardened some more, laundry out and in, tea had, dishes done, lunch put together.. still not tired and wondering why. I'm not complaining, I just want to know the secret so I can be full of beans on 6 hours sleep every day when usually 8 isn't enough.
