Good Luck Muppet81 and anyone else who needs it!
  • Oh - lil-me - what a brave and lovely person you are with Holly (sorry, I'm catching up backwards!).. I had to make the decision to rehome one of my dogs, but for different reasons, and it was one of the most difficult, but also the soundest (isn't that always the way?) decisions I've ever had to make.
I hope your family appreciate you at least half as much as you deserve...

  • Grannynise and everyone else who has been kind enough to wonder: the meeting with the CPN and psychiatrist went reasonably well yesterday - good for them as I was manic and could hardly string a sentence together (which I hadn't ever recognised before and no-one professional had ever seen before), bad for me as I couldn't answer the questions properly or provide a clear picture. Anyway - the upshot is that I am bipolar and there are drugs out there that can help - so I've just got to keep monitoring my mood scale and over the next few weeks they'll take base-line bloods, ecg and other bits and bobs, then we'll start mending me!

happyathome_withmyboys - glad you've got a diagnosis :) I know it will take time to sort the medication out but at least you'll be working towards a more settled life. Good for you!

    Morning all

One load of washing done and hung outside - it rained hard in the night and I don't think it's going to stay dry today but we'll see.

I only put the computer on to do banking - honestly! - but while I'm here ;)

I've wiped down the sides in the kitchen again and when I vacuum the living room I'll carry on through. Must remember the stairs too. Did the computer desk yesterday while I was damp-wiping the living room and I even remembered the keyboard.

lil_me I think you are so brave with your dog. Even knowing it's the right thing to do, it must be so hard. But at least you will still know how she is getting on.

Muppet - good luck with your job
Happy at home - glad you've got a diagnosis and hope you start to feel better soon
Nikki - i'm as bad as you when it comes to christmas only we actually have christmas in July as my sister lives abroad and comes over in the summer. About ten years ago we started Christmas in July and we love it as it's not as commercial as the real thing, lol. Also, no one is allowed to buy a gift for more than £5 so we really have to think. The children love it too and spend from Easter making decorations. Ok, now you all know i'm mad!

Got in from walking out dog in a foul mood as was so wet. Then realised how lucky I am as we're not flooded so told myself off. Bit worried about our dog actually, she's always been really friendly except towards one dog. She has to stay on a lead all the time as she runs off (came from a dogs home and has very bad history). This last week she's started snarling and barking at every dog she sees. Not sure what to do as she's getting quite nasty though she doesn't actually bite them. Any ideas appreciated xx

Muppet good luck with the new job :)

HAHWMB - pleased to hear you finally got the diagnosis sorted and that they are offering help

Nicki :shhh: I've barely even thought about Xmas yet :naughty: some people are far too organised

LJD1 you're forgiven as you have Xmas early, with the dog Holly is the same but as gentle as a mouse when they get close. A firm NO works with her now when she 'starts' but was initially done with a NO, then when she complied a treat was given. There is a site I find very helpful full of dog owners on the forum, especially owners of rescue animals www.dogpages.org.uk they may be able to offer more ideas.

Thanks for your lovely messages about DS and Holly aswell. I keep looking at her today and thinking how much I will miss her (she's asleep on my feet) but then I also know how much Mary will adore and spoil her. She needs her more than we do, Holly has a very special job to do. Saying that it could all go pear shaped and her end up home next week :rotfl:

Unfortunately we have rain again, which is a bit of a pain as after I went up to bed DS2 woke being ill everywhere and have all his sheets to clean, pleased I got that nap in last night as I've only managed to get half an hours sleep through the night as he's been up since. I might try to sneak a nap in again later as I feel shattered, he'll probably go to sleep at some point too.

Oh and sorry flyings on hold until this assignment is done so I'll probably get my list done in the evening (apart from the dailies through the day and laundry etc)
One day I might be more organised...........
