Pigpen -- WOW! you must be so pleased with yourself for that fantastic new signature. :T

HAHWMB ... now about the fete meeeting tomorrow .... have you thought of NOT offering to do things? :shhh:You could just sit quietly or even say no. You seem to have loads to do at the moment, why take on more?

If, like me, your house is still not exactly as Anthea would like to see it, we need to keep saying to ourselves 'progress is as important as achievement' (you can tell I'm a teacher). So long as we keep trying it can only get better.

Big hhhhuuuuuggggsssss to everyone, whether you need them or not.

OH is washing the dishes :D We've had chips for tea - from the co-op, more expensive but healthier :p Now going to go and attempt to put some washing on the line if it doesn't blow away. Then I will finish the end of the ebay listings that are waiting to be edited.

Pigpen - I had to wipe the screen over after reading about short skirts :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Right, washing

    Evening all,

I havn't done any of the list today. I'm job hunting at the moment so thats taking up abit of time. Hopfully I will be able to go back to full time. Been on short time for a few years now, gradually been reduced from 32½ hours to 16½ and so has the pay

I'm sure following this thread will make things easier though. For instance, I have a friends present wrapped and ready to post for her birthday on 16th July, I've never ever been that early before. :T

Friday isn't so much for me though, as the study/PC/Spare room is the only room left, we don't have childrens rooms.

    It is however, bed day.

I will change the bedding but it won't get vacuumed now, so thats still to do.

Put anything that isn't in it's place where it should be
    Dusting
Strip beds and replace with [STRIKE]fresh linen [/STRIKE]

As usual pick any one or more of the following if you fancy an extra challenge today and are still alive after entering the kids rooms!!
    • [STRIKE]
    • Time for the Friday Flylady Fling, aim for 27, if you can't find that many, well done, you are obviously making a difference
    • [/STRIKE]Storage area sort, sort through any one neglected dumping ground
    • Clean any one (or more) window that needs doing

For those with kids or wear uniforms for work, try to get them in the wash tonight, mkes the weekend easier. Apart from the dailies and night time routines that's the lot for the week, of course if you still want to join us over the weekend you are more than welcome

FRIDAY EXTRA - Don't forget your ME time this weekend, even if it's just a nice relaxing bath or catching up with an old friend, go on you deserve it -

We're off to the pub later :T :T
  • Evening all.
Well done on the debt reduction pigpen.:D

I've had a cr@ppy day today. In post this morning was a letter from on of DS1 teachers saying he's been disruptive and cheeky etc in his art class for weeks, then a bit later another of his subject teachers phoned to say pretty much the same thing in his english lessons. She has put him on report and just wanted me to know what was happening. i had this with him at the beginning of the school year and now again at the end. I decided as a punishment i would confiscate his mobile phone, so i had a quick look through it and found some !!!!!! on there:eek:. He's only 13:o. I asked him where it came from and he said "***** sent them to me, he's got loads and worse than that!"
    Don't know what to do:confused:

    Anyway my list
Friday - those frightening Friday kids rooms and spare rooms

    Level One
Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can get to
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Put anything that isn't in it's place where it should be[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Dusting [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Strip beds and replace with fresh linen [/STRIKE]
Vacuum Floor (even if it's just where you can see)
[STRIKE]Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors [/STRIKE]
    Extra Task List

As usual pick any one or more of the following if you fancy an extra challenge today and are still alive after entering the kids rooms!!
    • Clean any door frame and door, inc the handles
    • Time for the Friday Flylady Fling, aim for 27, if you can't find that many, well done, you are obviously making a difference
    • [STRIKE]Storage area sort, sort through any one neglected dumping ground[/STRIKE]
    • Clean any one (or more) window that needs doing

For those with kids or wear uniforms for work, try to get them in the wash tonight, makes the weekend easier. Apart from the dailies and night time routines that's the lot for the week, of course if you still want to join us over the weekend you are more than welcome

FRIDAY EXTRA - Don't forget your ME time this weekend, even if it's just a nice relaxing bath or catching up with an old friend, go on you deserve it :T

Don't know what my ME time will be this weekend. I'll try to schedule some in though.

NewmrsL big hugs for you my DS1 is 13 so I can feel for you. He too was playing up in school at Easter, only in a couple of subjects. I went in and saw the teacher and whilst he did not go on report I asked her to write in his planner every lesson how his behaviour had been. He has improved. Route of it is for him learning styles/teaching style. He is great in the lessons which involve lively discussion at the start, he then settles down well but those lessons with just the teacher talking he finds hard to listen and settle.

I am reaslising that his peers are starting to have much more of an influence than me. Friends who are teachers say year 8 and 9 are the hardest so we are nearly half way there! Join me in a glass of wine Dusty x

  • Thanks dustykitten, It really upsets me when they have to phone. It makes me feel like they think i'm not being a good Mum. :o I know its just a natural phase but:mad: I hope it doesn't get worse.

I think they phoned you because they know you ARE A GOOD MUM and that you would want to know. It is so much easier for them if parents are on their side and reinforcing/showing an interest at home. To make you feel better I am the worse Mum in the school right now as I will not hand over the pocket money until the room is tidy! Oh and Dad is cool and I am embarassing:D

trust me, when teachers phone home they don't think you are a bad mum. When i phone home, i am looking for some support from parents, ideas that might help, advice about anything that is affecting them at home - basically any information that might help my lesson to go smoother.

The sheer fact you feel guilty tells me that you aren't a bad mum, and your boy will turn out all right in the end.

I think most lads of that age go through a bit of a phase, and that in most cases they will then settle back down. Don't know if it is hormonal, or trying to establish themselves in the pecking order or whatever, plus trust me - they all seem to have !!!!!!. I have had some in my form think loaded magazine is suitable reading material for in the morning, and one boy bring a breast shaped lollipop in the classroom. I have to not be embarassed, and say that i find it unsuitable for the classroom.

Big hugs all round. I've had a stress freeday. Haven't done much housework, but a few things achieved, and have organised a night out with the girls from playgroup next Friday.

pigpen well done hon. At this rate you will be there probably this time next year.

lil-me no special deal on the anthea book, i just treat myself to it as a reward for all the marking, and the de-flea-ing.

newmrslockwood big hugs, I know what it's like to have the school on the other end of the phone all the time, sometimes feel like they are questioning your skills as a parent, hopefully it'll just be one of those phases and pass soon.
Linda32 have a beer or 5 for me please :) and enjoy yours of course

Well a big ARGH!! now from me. Popped upstairs as DS2 said he was tired and went to bed early (he was up at 5am) anyway he was asleep on the computer room floor on top of cushions and a quilt. I woke him and said 'go to bed' he said 'can't, wet'. Surely enough he'd been to bed, soaked it through AGAIN (4th time in as many days) and then decided to not tell me and go to sleep on the floor. His mattress is soaked through as are the boards under it. Have moved it all to dry it out so he's in my bed for now, if he wets that there will be trouble!!! Now I have all that to disinfect tomorrow, aswell as a LAUNDRY MOUNTAIN!! He'd even put towels on his bed to try to hide it so they now also stink of pee and need washing. Pouring down here again so will be a nightmare trying to get all of it dry.

Rant Over, phew that feels better!!

I just nearly treated myself to it aswell Michelle, then remembered my rule for myself, no more books until I have read what I have. With about 100 more to get through I think it might be a while!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

I know - but first of all I am the chair and we are desperately in need of funds - and it was my idea, and it was supposed to tie in with the Spanish visit, so we would have 10 handy helpers: only I misunderstood a 6 o'clock check-in to mean afternoon - when in fact i am taking them to the airport for a 6am check in!
Anyhow - it will all come together and I am actually just organising index cards for all the individual stalls so i can delegate them to volunteers:T . And I've had confirmation today from a local building firm that they are going to do a Bob the Builder attraction for me (wee-ones get to build a real wall!) and the army phoned to say they are going to come and do a penalty shoot-out thing. So it is all seeming a lot less stressy and a lot more do-able than it did this morning.... sorry to have panicked.:o
    Is it home time yet?
