happyathome - well done for dealing with all that :A - just keeping thinking about the light at the end of the tunnel :)

lil_me - that was a lovely thing you did, I know you must miss her

And well done to everyone who seems to have achieved so much today already!!!

As expected I got nothing done last night - though OH did a fair bit in the kitchen... I have neither spare rooms nor kids - so before I go out tonight I'm going to try to catch up on what I missed this week so far...

Sob - just previewed my list - it looks pretty underachieving ;) However, in light of just how much clutter I had to clear - my flat looks MILES better than it did 4 days ago

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clean floors
    Level Two
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/strike]

Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
[strike]Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front[/strike]

    Level Three
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:

    - Wipe the outside of all your small appliances (kettle, toaster etc)

    - Clean out your vacuum cleaner, get rid of the hair from the brushes, clean the filters is they are washable and clean anything else you can like the ‘muck bucket’ etc, make sure you leav it to dry thoroughly before putting it back together.

    - Clean out the freezer, I find the vacuum cleaner is good for getting up any crumbs in the bottom or stray peas etc. Defrost it if it needs it.

    - Clean under small appliances and bigger ones if you can manage it

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
    [strike]Vacuum floors[/strike] and sofas
    Level 2
    [strike]Dusting[/strike], even if around everything
    [strike]Remove clutter[/strike]

    [strike]Clean window
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/strike]
    Level 3
    [strike]Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
    Tidy shoes, coats and bags[/strike]
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

    [strike] - Clear one hotspot
    - Gather any borrowed items or library books and return/rebook/check dates
    [/strike]
    - Wipe the leaves of your plants

[strike] - Sort through any magazines or paperwork lying around [/strike] Sorted into a carrier bag for later ;)

    Wednesday, Master Bedroom & Landing

    Level 1
    [strike]Check fire alarms are working
    Vacuum floor in bedroom[/strike]
    Level 2
Remove bed linen and wash, replace with fresh
    Clean window & wipe windowsill
    Level 3
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
    Wipe doors and handles
    Declutter Mission Task
    [strike]
    [/strike]
[strike] 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter[/strike]

    Thursday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    Level One
Clean floors in these rooms (even if it is around the clutter)
    Level Two
    Clean bath, toilet and sink
    Level Three
    Clear clutter from floor
    Wipe down tiles in bathroom
Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required
    Clean windows
    Extra mission:
Pick whichever you want to attempt

    - Make any important calls you have been putting off

    - Clean tops of wardrobes

    - Wash your bathroom mats

    - Sort a wardrobe or part of, a drawer or set of drawers making sure it has what needs to be in it and any 'extras' are put where they should be.

My missions - though not just for today! ;)
    - Sort clothes and shoes into keep/ebay/charity shop piles - be ruthless!
    - Reorganise drawers and wardrobes
    - Take tiles back to Topps for refund
    - Investigate damp problem in the corner of the bedroom - rearrange furniture temporarily?? [strike]Cleaned up the mould - yuck[/strike]

    - Organise paperwork
    - Put CD's into DJ bags and throw out CD cases to free up storage space
    - Register with Amazon and sell old text books
    -
[strike] Take a load of stuff up to OH's to make some space!
    [/strike]

  • Oh thank you thank you thank you everyone!
Elena has Spanish-cleaned my kitchen (I couldn't look - but there is a previously full bottle of bleach in the bin!) - anyway it is sparkling - but the very best thing is that I actually let someone help me. Just let them tell me I'm crazy now! I reckon that must be me cured, then...
Also i excelled myself even further than yesterday (when I went knocking on perfect strangers' doors until I found one who would have one of my students) in that I phoned our local newspaper and persuaded the senior reporter to give us a full page spread with photos when the students are here! I'll post a link when it is published: I can't tell you how excited I am!!
Of course now I have MORE work to do because he basically wants me to write the article for him - but hey - this thing is going to work!!:D

FRIDAY EXTRA - Don't forget your ME time this weekend, Planning on going to Hampton Court flower show tomorrow with DS1 on you deserve it :T

    [STRIKE]
Right starting with a 15 minute wizz down stairs to get it back in check

DS2 room (the roller coaster room) all done, bed remade. I have put all the bits laying around in a large shoe box for him to deal with before youth club.

Going to cut the grass now- wind has blown it dry! Washing is battling to stay on the line - some in and dry all ready. Fluffy cat is running around like a loon in the wind - he is called pickle for a good reason.

Putting kettle on and getting mower out before I get comfy.

Pollybear hugs to you, I too have weeks like that, this too will pass for everything always does

I'm really grumpy now  I'm trying to sort out a new mortgage deal as my one runs out in Sept... When I spoke to NR, they told me I was given £1000 help with costs when I took the mortgage (which I hadn't even realised, and am going to query...)

And if I leave NR - or even try to get a new deal with them (!) - they are going to take that £1000 back! I'm can't believe I'd have agreed to that back then, but maybe my IFA explained it differently... :-S

Anyway - that was just a rant, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to cough up...:mad::mad:

Pigpen well done :) it's coming dwn VERY fast isn't it.
Chivas hope you get it sorted
    Pollybear ((hugs))

Just back from DS1s visit to his new school, great news, he loves it :D He's really impressed that they go swimming twice a week and trips most weeks. Has spent all week saying he doesn't want to go so I was worried but all fine now. Asked if he could leave his other school and start there today which is a bit of a difference. Need to put money away for uniform which should arrive next week, totals up around £150 I think.

Managed to get some gel for my toothache which seems to be working ok, have had it a week and dentists can't fit me in until 24th! Downside is it numbs it a lot and I will probably start dribbling :o

Vacuuming done but not much else, have had to strip the boys beds as DS2 wet the bed again, going to have to use the drier to get his duvet etc dry. It's a tip in there and I think will be a weekend mission to get it sorted a bit! Doesn't look like I will get the garden done as still raining on and off and more forecast.

Has there been an offer on with the Perfect Housewife book somewhere I have missed ? Everyone seems to have one!!!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
