Had a lovely couple of days, what a lovely Christmas I've had this year. OH is home and I got everything I wanted and more. Got let out of work early on Christmas Eve, so I attempted to do some shopping, but people were queueing out the doors of the shops, so I gave up and went home. Saved me money though, so no complaints!

Spent Christmas day with my mum, eating too much and I had a lovely nap in the afternoon, while OH played his xbox. In the evening we went over to OHs parents and ate too much there too and got to go outside in their hot tub. Great experience for Christmas day, felt weird though, especially when it started raining.

Went up to visit my Dad for boxing day which was nice. I don't get to see him much, so it made a change. He gave me an early birthday present of a keyring with my name on it, really lovely, and another present which I'm not allowed to open until my birthday.

I've spent today trying to make sure 2008 starts well with me not spending more than I can afford. I've drawn up my own budgets and I've set up a couple of standing orders so bills will be paid when they're due without me having to worry about them. Got my internet banking sorted and I've opened myself another current account so now I have one for day to day spending and one that my wages go into and the bills come out of. I've also opened up an easy access savings account and I'm paying in £10 a week by standing order which will go towards the wedding.
Also any spare money I have at the end of the month can go in there,
but its still accessible if I have an emergency. I got £210 for Christmas, so thats gone in there already.
It feels good to be organised, I hope I can keep it up! Going to start trying to get OH to sort his finances out next-that'll be fun :D

  • Hi everyone

I've not posted in this part of the forum before, hadn't realised it was here but was seaching for 'depression support' on google and arrived back at good ole MSE. When will I learn to look here first?:o (Searched for advice on cooking lamb yesterday and ended up on MSE:p )

Anyway, I thought I'd post. I'm usually found lurking in the comps forum but occasionally venture to other parts of MSE.

Life's really hard right now. Depression's haunted me for the past 4 years (and more when I look back over my life). I emailed Samaritans earlier today, I'm trying to keep safe.

So, I don't want to bore you all with a long post so I won't go on. Hope you are all ok.

    Luv Jen x

PS - Reehsetin, Paranoia is sometimes a problem for me when I'm very depressed too. Take care x

  • Hi Jen, Welcome! I can't believe you have won all that stuff this year! :T I have never won anything, ever...not even a raffle! but then I don't enter competitions, maybe I'll give them a go,see if I can win anything.

You have done a good thing posting here..its nice that people understand, never judge and offer such support. Hope you can get some other support too though...family, friends, GP? If you want to share anything with us,, it doesn't matter if your post is long or short...it helps sometimes just getting it out and knowing someone will read it. Also though, if you don't feel up to that yet, thats fine too. please look after yourself, Antronella xx
