    Hi guys! :hello:
I hope we're all safe and sound on this Mewsday morning everyone.sLo_hug2.gif

    Wow.

It seems a long time since I've seen so many of us having such hard struggles. I've honestly been moved to tears this morning reading your posts. I kinda feel that I should have been concentrating here a lot more than I have been, instead of selfishly posting about myself as much as I have.
However, in an effort to reassure you all that I'm still around & that I do care,

Hello to all old and new

Hope all are coping as well as can be at this time of year. I miss my departed loved ones all year round but at this time of year the 'family' side of life is thrust in your face even more which makes it even harder.

Hope we all have a 'gentle' Christmas

Not alot happening at the moment here. My new work placement is going to happen very soon once the odd issue has been resolved, my counselling is coming to an end as my counsellor is leaving and they are angling me towards not taking up a new one, so I won't have one after Christmas.

On the plus side, Britney was 26 on Sunday and music TV was packed with all of her stuff :D Plus the new video will be on the music channels soon as her new single is due for release 7th Jan - the same date my disasterous relationship with 'S' ended last year, so if it remains a 7th Jan release, that anniversary will be much easier :D

Catch you all soon - if you're lucky i'll dress up as Noddy Holder for the Depression Thread Christmas Bash :rotfl:

    Hi All!!

I dont normally visit the health board so I apologise in advance if this seems cheeky!

My OH suffers on and off with depression and anxiety and although he is now back at work he occassionally feels that it all gets too much.
A friend of mine recommended St Johns Wort and said its excellent for what my OH suffers with - OH is a bit dubious so I thought I would see what you guys thought of it. Have you tried it? Did/does it help?

Many many thanks for your replies and big hugs to all.

Thanks for links Dawnylou, very festive! The snowman told me off for going too fast  :rotfl:

Hi newcook! I tried St. Johns Wort a few years ago, and it didn't help me. If your partner decides to try St. Johns Wort, make sure he talks to his Doctor or Pharmacist first. St John's wort has significant interactions with a large number of prescribed medicines which are in common use, and you should always check with a Doctor or Pharmacist.

Hi Miroslav, nice to see you. What will your work placement be like? I started work at a charity shop yesterday. 2 hours a week at first, no pressure and I can build up gradually. Keep us informed!

Fantastico, well done on getting the blood tests done. I had a few blood tests done a couple of weeks ago, and just got the results back. Hope the wait isn't too stressful. Let us know when you get the results on Friday. I'm glad that posting here helps you. Sometimes its good just to get things out of our heads isn't it.

Hi Katie, glad to hear you are fine today. Are you managing to get out for walks in this weather? Me and OH went for a walk along the coast at Portsmouth a few weekends ago, but it was so stormy we ran back to the car and hid inside for the rest of the day!

Rose - how are you feeling? You mentioned being up and down alot, and I can totally relate. Its good to have some ups for once, but it makes the downs a bit worse. I'm hoping its a good thing though - on the road to recovery perhaps! I didn't realise how up and down I am until I started mood charting, and its quite scary really. Hope you are okay.

Managed to get through to the Occupational Therapist, and I've got another Pyschiatrist appointment on Monday. Had I not chased it up, they wouldn't have bothered telling me about it, silly people! This should be my permenant Pyschiatrist, so hopefully shouldn't be too long before I get a diagnosis them some treatment.
