Hayley--try not to think about the "possible" side effects---you may not get any of them; a bit like never crossing the road in case you get hit by a steam roller!
I don't mean to be off-hand, but until you DO try something, how will you know if it works? I can appreciate how isolated you must feel, & can only repeat what others have said before
WE are here for you, & 98% of us have been exactly where you are now, including me.
I find it helps to write a list of the reasons why I should & should not do something, particularly if my judgement is a little off radar. A piece of paper with two headings Yes & No, then jot down thoughts as & when they come into my head. Then you have something solid to base your decision on, & also something to show the doc etc next time you have an appointment. HTH.

    Peaceful Minds folks. BMFx

Thanks BMF, I am going to take the tablets, I just have a bad habit of worrying about every single thing until somebody tells me to stop! I'm going to take them and be positive that they will work. I am going to spend a few days down in Gloucester with my mum in a week or so, so I wont be on my own all the time. Thanks so much for your support, it really does help having you guys to talk to :)

I wish I could give somebody some advice now and again, I always seem to come on needing advice and I feel really selfish :(

Carpy - I found citalopram made me worse. I went to the docs complaining of feeling tired all the time and he diagnosed me with moderate depression and gave me citalopram. After a week I was more tired than ever and started to have sucidal thoughts  (sorry!)

Hi all, im new here. I had the same problem with citalopram :( Felt ill all the time and sucicidal. That was the first antidepressant I was prescribed. Since then I have tried many more and am now on my fourth one :( Quite sad for a year :(

Quick hello & goodnight  I shall be back tomorrow to reply to Tiff's post amongst many things

Britney's new album is in my ownership having purchased it when it came out on Monday

    It's a bit erm....... A bit 80's and overdone with synthesisers.

It's getting mixed reviews, some say it's her best stuff to date, some say it's goodbye career.

It's a bit of a disappointment I suppose and alot of it sounds chucked together and like everyone has just robotically put it together. 3 or 4 tracks are decent, the rest are a little desperate and the whole album is an up yours/shag me/I need attention attempt which makes her sound like a rebellious teenager as opposed to a 25 (nearly 26!) year old woman with 2 children, but we all know she's not mature (I'm the one to turn her into a fully mature lady! ;) ) The best three songs are the 1st 3 and I believe the next 2 songs to be released are tracks 2 & 3. Gimme More is track 1 and the best track on the album by some distance.

Anyway, enough Britneying for one night (I could go on forever but i'll spare you all as you couldn't handle her ;) )

I'll pop back tomorrow after i've spent my remaining money on a coat for my flatmate. Good job I get paid on Monday

    Cat food - Check
    Milk - Check
    Bread - Check
    Coat for flatmate - Argh!

PS - Welcome to all the newcomers to this thread. Everyone will make you welcome, especially if you bring smarties (Just don't tell Tiff!) and watch out for Sazbo - she isn't posting much right now, but the smell of smarties brings her out to nab them and run off again.

Also watch out for Tulip - she may seem all gentle, but when it comes to smarties..... they're nabbed and scoffed whilst watching Casualty and Jericho :) (Again, just don't tell Tiff!)

    Oooh, it's Caturday :rotfl:
