Hunger is something else I am struggling with at the moment. I am putting on weight because obviously I am not doing all of the things I would normally be doing - working out, walking to work etc. So I tried Slimfast but I was always hungry!
So I have bought loads of veg and have decided every day for my lunch I will have various veg roasted in olive oil. That can't be too bad can it? And surely it should fill me more?
I also got some healthy snacks and am freezing a bottle of water every night to sup on throughout the day.
Then our main meals will just be jacket spuds etc so I don't have to worry about cooking as well.
It just feels as if there will never be another good nights sleep.
I am so glad I got another sicknote. I really could not have coped at work today. I would have broke down in front of everybody.Dream of being mortgage free....

Dawnylou, I've found that if I eat foods that have a low glycemic index, I stay feeling satisfied for longer. I tend to eat things like shredded wheat, weetabix or museli for breakfast. I like to have soup for lunch, and if they have lentils, beans, pearlbarley or similar things in they are much more filling. Roasted vegetables sound like a good idea - sweet potatoes are very nice roasted and can keep you full for a long time! I also like roasted shallots, but they can be a pain to prepare! I usually just quater an onion instead. As its getting a bit chillier, could you make some stews? I stick a bag of casserole veg (all prepared for me) in the slow cooker with some diced beef and sauce. I cook some tinned beans (butter beans, canelloni beans etc) seperately and add them when they are done. If you get lean beef, its very healthy, tasty, warming and the beans will keep you satisfied. Hope this helps
Oh, in a weeks time, I will have abstained from over-eating or comfort-eating for the longest time ever. I did 17 weeks last year, and have just equalled that. I've learnt from my relapse that I am happier if I stick to the program.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Oh now there's an idea - get the slow cooker out! Make some yummy low fat, comfort food for the horrible cold months ahead!
I'm thinking if I lose some weight while I am off when I return to work people will be paying compliments and saying how great I look rather than asking what has been wrong and where have I been as I really don't want to talk about it at all.Dream of being mortgage free....

This thread is a sad place today.
Alot of people I care about are in pain. It's hard to read. Part of me wants to run from it but I will try to stay here.
I don't know your pain. I don't even understand your actions sometimes.
But I see your souls. You are all more than just your problems. More than just a disease or a trauma. It may dominate but it is not your definition.
It might get better is all I can say. I have no promises. But life can change in a second however bad the starting point. I, a total stranger, can see the good, the love and humour in you all.
I myself suffer from sadness rather than depression. Cowardice rather than paranoia. But maybe that means that I am higher up the ladder. So I can see what's above. I am not religious but I believe in a form of fate. MSE can save us all. I joke about it but I've always known it.
Don't add to your troubles with guilt and regret. They are nailed on symptoms. Only suffer the real things and then deal with those issues.

Yes Feelinggood - I am fine so long as I have my fiance there with me to hold my hand.
Without him I am pretty much unable to do the housework, get bills paid etc etc - like you said real life....Dream of being mortgage free....

((((Dawnylou))))
I'm hurting at the moment after a row with OH. Feels like life is impossible without him, but impossible with him at the moment. He is totally unaffected and couldn't care less how in distress I am.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
