Can you put me down for 1lb loss please.
Thanks0 -
Hi There, I've been given some unwanted slim fast shakes, and wondered if anyone has tried them/lost weight with them. I thought they would be ideal for work to keep in the fridge saving me making sarnies for work.
Hi jinny
Personally I've never been one for meal replacements as I don't think they help you to develop a healthy eating regimen but I can't see that it would hurt to use them for a short period, especially as they were given to you (very MSE) but I wouldn't use them long term.
So give them a try and if they work for you then okay, but I would suggest that you find a healthy slimming plan that appeals to your tastes and incorporates the foods that you like (within reason :rotfl: ) so that you don't get bored with it and give up.
I wish you the best and feel free to stay with us if you want any support

evening all :hello:
thanks for a great looking recipe petrichor.Look forward to trying it out. Just had your past bake again tonight (or was ot Lois's...?) Yum. I've added a minor variaion that I can highly recommend: I added a light dusting of chinese 5 spice to the roast veg (red and yellow peppers, corgette, butternut sqaush). (I also add 200g quorn pieces which I cook in the tinned toms before adding to veg and par cooked macaroni)
Suggs - thanks for being brave enough to add the photos - they were great to see and lovely to put a name to a face. :T
a newbie was asking for any tips - (I appologise for losing track of your name, was it mushroom?) but my tip would be to keep a food diary. I have written down every single thing I have eaten in the last 11 weeks and it has really helped keep me on track (I'm doing SW) Most days I write down in the evenng before what I expect to have the next day, allowing flxibility for a few treat options.

:DDo you not think I get a difficult enough time from my OH about them ,calling Moscow and wax on wax off?- And I wasn't even here to defend myself:rolleyes:
....have I walked in on the wrong thread? WHat on earth are you talking about? Moscow? Wax?? I'm very confused lol

What we were told was if you have a blow out on alcohol, it takes your liver up to 3 days to cleanse your blood of all the toxins from the drinking and it sidelines any of the normal liver functions (processing fat being one of them) until it's all cleared.
,......I've heard this before too - that the main dieting damage of alcohol is that it is a poison. While the body tries to get rid of it, it doesn't use up fat stocks. Sorry to basically repeat you, but... well, was just agreeing really

Evening all :hello:
I was working late tonight, didn't finish until nearly 10, and it's taken me an hour to read all the posts - I've only been away for 48 hours!! :rotfl:
Well done to everyone who's posted weight losses since Wednesday and comiserations to those who are struggling.
It was interesting to read about how alcohol affects the body and can slow down weight loss - I don't drink a lot, but I've got into the habit of drinking most nights, usually 1 glass of wine (35mls) but sometimes 2. I look forward to unwinding with a glass of wine, and kind of justify it in my mind as it has health benefits (good for the heart) but, maybe it's having an adverse affect on my weight loss, and being lighter would also be good for my heart... one to think about.
Suggs - completely off topic, but I think it would be great if LTFC shared the MKDons new stadium instead of building another new one - what do you think?
Back on topic, well done for posting your slide show, it's very inspiring. And I'll be looking out for you next time I'm in NP - don't worry, I'm no stalker!
Ajax - you hit the nail on the head when comparing WW with SW - it's very much about portion size, in that you can have whatever size baked potato you like on SW, enough to satisfy your appetite, unlike WW. I tried WW for a while, and I found I was constantly thinking about food - from how many points something was, to how many points I had left, with frequent days when I felt hungry with no points left and only green veg and salad on the free foods list. SW allowed me to plan my meals based around free foods, and then just worry about what treats to use syns for. (You can drink more on WW though!)
Honey - I really feel for you, it's depressing when you think you're heading back to where you started, but I'm sure this is a temporary blip, caused by the disruption to your life. Once you're settled again you'll get your motivation and determination back. (((hugs)))
Welcome to the new people who found themselves merged with usYou're very welcome, so do come back and let us know how you're getting on.
Thinking of that, are any regulars here as a result of a previous merging of threads?
Well, its taken me about an hour to write this, between chatting to DH and watching tv! Time for bed... catch up again tomorrow.

Hi Lovely (but naughty) Peeps:hello:
...Bb I hope you enjoy it as much as we did :j I would love to lay claim to the pasta bake recipe as it seems to be proving to be very popular, but it belongs to...
...Lois I know you said that because you make it from left over vegetables you wouldn't put it on the recipe thread, but in view of the interest in it why not put it on the losing weight recipes thread (it is low fat) and put it on one of the OS recipe threads too (very MSE) I think it would be very popular there :j ...
... Thanks for the info about alcohol, it was completely new to me :T and makes me glad that (at the moment) I'm not drinking any...
...Ah! That's what Moscow means but now I'm stumped concerning headphonesdare I ask???????...naughty delly :rotfl:...
...I hope everyone is having a good Saturday...
