I made my boss two slices of toast this morning. Figured I was safe to do this as there were only two crusts left so I couldn't make any for me. Buttered it (Lurpak Light spreadable - I'll not have anything else in the office!), cut it into halves, garnished plate with dairylea cheese spread and took it into his office to be greeted with a heartfelt thanks. Then he looked at his plate... "only three halves?" he asked me. At which point I had to confess that one half had fallen between my teeth :p

  • Been on my hols (again!) Why do I always lose the plot when I go on holiday - I lose it about a week before and then (almost) permanently afterwards!

I have eaten loads of chocolate (as the kids gave it to me before we finished school) but thats gone now and I won't buy any - I won't, (I hope!)

Erlqueen, that's made me laugh - which may have burnt off half a calorie!

Lois, I have weighed myself and have put on 2lb - so back to the grindstone i think. Good luck to everyone else.

    Hi all you losers!

Just to update you I lost 1lb last week and I am due to have my weigh in tmoz. I have noticed this week that my weight has been fluctuating as I have weighed myself everyday! I was excited yesterday as I had lost 3lb then weighed myself this morning and put a 1lb on?!?

    Anyone know why this happens:confused:

Also what do people think a realistic target is for each week. I have got myself down for 4lb a week, but is that too much?

    Thanks again peeps!:money:

    Hello and Good morning

Long day again yesterday, to be honest it took it out of me.

Well done to Maniac and Vixx on your losses. BargainBabe Do we not go on holiday purely to lose the plot? I know I will in two weeks :) Dont worry Thats the joy of a holiday :) As long as you enjoyed yourslef that is surely the main point, a little weight gain, and 2lb is a little will soon be gone :)

Honey ((( big :grouphug: hugs ))) Hope all ok, it cant be easy in your sitution, I will echo petrichors sentiments take this period as a break, I guess worrying about the weight is only going to cause more stress and that cants be helpful either, just enjoy the scrabble :)

Erlqueen the toast in 3 halves made me laugh, surely you were just helping your boss and testing the toast first :) Hope all went well with the strike jojilufc, well done on giving the OH the choc to take with him :)

Right Half day for me, So heading to the gym and then to Luton, might be buying myself a LTFC shirt :)

    have a good day all.

    Hi maniac

Daily weight fluctuations are quite normal and that's why we shouldn't weigh ourselves every day, a simplified explanation can be found here.

As to how much you should lose each week depends on how much you need to lose, the more overweight you are the more you can lose for the initial first few weeks, but it then slows down and the generally accepted weight loss shouldn't be more than 2 lbs per week so that you only lose fat and not lean muscle. I know that we all want to lose our excess weight as quickly as possible, but it is also a matter of taking the time to reeducate ourselves not only to eat healthily but to eat only the necessary amount and not the amount we would like to eat:o .

I hope this helps a bit, my weight loss averaged at 1.5 lbs per week, but the time passed quickly. I bet that when you weigh in tomorrow you'll be pleasantly surprised, but if not, well, there's always next week, it's not a race here :D

Hi everyone... back from a wet and windy couple of expensive (ouch!) days in Co. Donegal. Just one or 2 things to say from the 10 pages since I went away on Sunday!

Congratulations SUGGS ON REACHING YOUR 10 STONE MARK!

Secondly - Petrichor and Ajax - you leave my poor boobs alone! :DDo you not think I get a difficult enough time from my OH about them ,calling Moscow and wax on wax off?- And I wasn't even here to defend myself:rolleyes:

Ajax, I was interested to read about MrsA and wine. I remembered from my RC classes a long time ago about alcohol and weightloss. I was so shocked it stuck to my memory. What we were told was if you have a blow out on alcohol, it takes your liver up to 3 days to cleanse your blood of all the toxins from the drinking and it sidelines any of the normal liver functions (processing fat being one of them) until it's all cleared.

What this means in terms of weightloss is that, following a drinking session, your body stores all fat taken in your diet until it has cleared the toxins from your bloodstream - 1 day's drinking = 3 days with no weightloss and possible fat gain. Maybe anyone who is struggling to lose weight should think more about cutting out the 2 large glasses of wine every night in favour of a cuppa a couple of nights a week to give your liver a rest and your weighloss a chance?

Lil Miss Emmylou - I've only just caught on that you're from Ireland with the polly pineapples and pear picking porkies.. Where abouts are you from?

Honey - sorry to hear about the weight gain - Here's hoping for better weather so your house can move along.

Well done all losers and maintainers - day one for me tomorrow.

Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
