It's funny the way things make you think. I lost over 3 stone 2 years ago so that I could get pregnant with DS. I'm now back to the weight I was before I started trying and have been kind of complacent but today was a wake up for me. It's not fair on my son that his mum is too heavy and unfit to catch up with him (He's only 21 months old!) I have to be completely honest here - it's not just the birthday party that's been making me feel like this, my weigh in this morning showed a gain of 3lbs!.

This means that I'm only 3lbs lighter than I was when I started trying to lose weight all that time ago.... Almost back to square one and my DH is just too kind to tell me!

Hi dellybelly - sorry you are feeling down. I used to look at my daughter and feel bad that she had to put up with such a big fat mummy - but she would look at me with unconditional love - shes didn't know any different and she didn't judge me for my size. Your son loves you for who you are and I am sure he does not feel sorry for himself when he is whizzing down slides or whatever.

I just couldn't bear spending my week off competing with my OH to see who gets the most or longest lie in. (this happens most weekends - we never usually row but we both get resentful at having to get up with DS at 6.30 on a Saturday morning).

My OH and I had a very set routine when it comes to weekends. Saturday, he gets up early with DD and I am off duty and can lie-in til whenever. Sunday, he has a lie-in. Almost no deviation from that. Then we can both look forward to our lie-ins and not feel badly done to!

Hope you feel happier soon and have a really great family holiday.

I agree about not using your scales every day. Since coming on here i am very strict and only WI on a Monday morning. I forgot to buy new batteries for my scales yesterday when I was in town so no WI for me this week. Today it is only 1 week until I go on holiday to hopefuly sunny Devon. We are staying full board and the food is yum. All home made incl the puddings which comes with clotted cream.

I will be playing golf nearly everyday and we will also be doing walks on Dartmoor and swimming so hopefully will be Ok.

Played golf with the girls last night (playing so badly at the moment). They all had a glass of wine afterwards but I said no. THen at home I had one glass with dinner (2nd this week) and went briefly upstairs before settling down in front of the TV.

Finished my wine and DH took the empty bottle out - I said have you drunk all of that and he replied but you had two glasses. He had refiled me without me knowing so anoying.... So does that count or have I still only had 2 this week what do you think.

Must get some work done off to Crawley in a minute. Must have done over 450 miles this week.

... re the MH topic, psychiatrists/psychologists like to give a name to everything it makes them feel that they've earned their money. The real help comes from those that have suffered similar situations. Not much help, sorry :o ...

    Hello :wave:Sarah 274

I forgot yesterday to say WELL DONE to all the losers and maintainers.

When I went out looking for Quorn foods at the weekend I found our local wholefood shop sold organic, gm free soya mince and sausages in the frozen food section. They are both very low fat and today I tried the sausages for lunch and apart from being a bit dry (I had a teeny squirt of ketchup) they were pretty tasty. When I make mince based dishes for the family I usually add a bit of dried soya mince or oat bran to make it go further and no one has ever noticed the difference. The addition of both of those ingredients must make them lower in fat I suppose. The oat bran is also added because it is supposed to help reduce cholesterol build up.
