Dellybelly
I can really sympathise over the lie in situation. My OH works 12 hours too with 3 on 3 off. When our DS's were little I used to get so resentful, he used to stay up late on his days off etc and I would let it all build up inside me until I exploded. Then the whole cycle would begin again.
Once they got older and stopped getting up at such ungodly hours things did gradually get easier, with us even going to bed at the same time:D
Depression can lead to drinking, and as you say the symptoms can be the same. Perhaps he could see his GP again?
Dont apologies for your post. A rant does us all good sometimes.:D
Jo
... go jo! Yeah, rant on Delly. This is a bit trivial compared to yours, but I have the 'inconvenience' of a 12 hour shift, 4-on 4-off as well. The way me and the wife do it is that on the days I'm not working I get up and take our dog for a walk at 7am, and on the days I am working she does it. Could you not share things that way with your DS? I like playing games online too, particularly backgammon, so I do this while she is at work and I'm off ... could your OH not do the same? Even after cooking tea for when wifey gets home, doing a washing load and the washing up, there's still loads of time in the non-working days he could be playing with your son or gaming after tiring out said son?0 -
Hello. Can I join your little crew? I have 28 lbs to lose, and will try for the 5 lbs a month as well as a weekly loss if poss.
I'm completely new to this forum business, so I'm not sure whether this message will work.Ssshh - I might know about deals in/near Keswick0 -
Still no batteries for my scales but well done to all loosers. It agree it is hard to be good when on holiday but I think as long as one does not go totally mad and eat all the time it should be possible. I am going to be really strict on the old white wine and stay off the larger completely.
Devil I agree with the others try and post a few more details and we might be able to help you. Sometimes I only have time to do a quick post so can't read up on everyone. I am not a vegetarian myself so can't help you there. There are lots of useful recepies on the start of this thread so have a look there and see if that will inspire you. I also think writting a food diary will give you a good idea about what is going on. It is easy to miss that chocolate biscuits or lump of cheese. If you are really brave you can even post it on here.
Working from home today 10 sales reports to write up plus a telephone call with my boss. No nice biscuits in the house so I think I shall be safe to go and have a cup of tea.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks Ajax, I put them in with the onions and garlic - maybe I just need to brown 'em a bit more first.
I'm going to persevere with them as I'm sure once I get used to cooking them I'll be fine.
..... just been thinking about it - if you use them straight from frozen then they are bound to have some water hanging about that maybe didn't all evaporate. I generally have a bag of them in the fridge "ready to go" for snacks - I scoop up a 'free' salsa or something with them. When using frozen in a recipe I tend to nuke them in the microwave for a minute or two first.0 -

..... why? It's your holiday for lord's sake, it's the one time of year that you should really make the most of. The other 51 or 50 weeks of the year are for being good, why hold back on your holiday?0 -

Thanks Ajax - I knew I should have asked you lot rather than reading the packaging - which says cook from frozen.:beer:0 -

Welcome aussiesbird, it must be hard trying to loose weight when depressed. Try and breakdown the weight loss into smaller chuncks so it is not so daunting - maybe you could aim to loose half a stone and when you've reached that goal you can extend it. That way you keep succeeding which helps with motivation.
Lubo.I can only please one person per day.Today is not your day.Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.0
